Rolith and Asahi Glass Company Announce Partnership

Asahi Glass Co. (AGC) has partnered with Pleasanton, Calif.-based Rolith Inc. to develop advanced anti-reflective glass.

According to a joint release issued by the two companies, Rolith offers a proprietary manufacturing method, Rolling Mask lithography, which will enable the companies to create nanostructures on large area glass panels in a cost-effective manner.

“AGC has chosen Rolith for [its] cutting-edge technology and talented team,” says Usui Hiroshi, deputy general manager of AGC. “The strategic partnership demonstrates our confidence in Rolith’s capability to move forward with commercialization efforts.”

Boris Kobrin, founder and CEO of Rolith, adds, “Through this strategic partnership we are able to deliver a truly innovative, high-performance anti-reflective glass. AGC’s commitment demonstrates the significant progress of Rolith’s technology to date and together we are now positioned to accelerate development of novel advanced glass products based on our fabrication method.”
