In honor of the 50th anniversary of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) Certification Gold Label, the association has announced that it will hold a contest for the oldest in-service door, window or skylight bearing an AAMA air-water-structural certification label.
To be eligible for entry, a photo of the label, the product and the building must be submitted along with the entry form to AAMALabelContest@aamanet.org. Three prizes will be awarded: $300 for first place, $150 for second place and $50 for third place. The contest runs from June 15 to September 15, and winners will be announced at the AAMA Fall Conference, to be held in Baltimore, October 27-30. The product manufacturers will be recognized during the event.
“It would be an honor for a manufacturer to be recognized for the oldest in-service window, door or skylight, as it is a testament to the product’s longevity as well as AAMA’s Certification Program,” says Rich Rinka, AAMA’s certification manager. “We are encouraging manufacturers to share the contest information with homeowners, dealers and distributors. In return, AAMA will work with the product manufacturer to promote the winning certification label.”
