The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) will host a webinar on “Cold-Formed Steel Curtainwall Design” on Thursday, June 6, at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. The webinar will cover stud design, top track design, design of openings, bridging and other topics. Example calculations covering studs, top track, connections and openings will be provided. Participants are eligible for 1.5 continuing education units.
The webinar will be based on information contained in AISI S100, North American Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members; AISI S211, North American Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing – Wall Stud Design; and various CFSEI Technical Notes.
Sutton Stephens, chief engineer at Pacific Northwest Engineering Inc., will lead the webinar. Stephens has 28 years of experience in the structural engineering field. He also has taught structural engineering courses at Kansas State University and has authored several research papers. He is a member of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) Committee on Framing Standards and chairs its Prescriptive Methods subcommittee.
