Maintained by the Glass Association of North America, whose divisions include flat glass manufacturing, distribution, insulating, laminating, mirror and tempering as well as building envelope contractors, this site provides an array of technical information.
Click on the Tech Center for technical information, a glossary, publications and standards.
Also available are downloadable PDF Glass Informational Bulletins (GIBs) on a range of topics including point-supported glass, design considerations for laminated glazing applications and a discussion of various types of heat-treated glass surfaces.
Links are also provided to many of the association’s members, which are the leading industry companies in their fields.

The Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance has a long history of providing technical documents for the IG industry. The technical corner section of the site provides information on codes and standards activities. The certification section provides downloadable powerpoint presentations on various IG certification programs. A certified products directory is also available in this section.
Links to other organizations involved in certification and IG are also available at the site. A number of these are Canadian, as the group has strong representation there as well as in the U.S.

This site, developed by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has a separate section for architects and other professionals. It allows visitors to use simple search engines specially targeted at these industry professionals to find product manufacturers, certified products, technical standards and educational programs.
An FAQs section provides answers to some of the most frequent questions about this market area; a link is also provided so that individual questions can be posed to AAMA technical experts.
Information is also provided on standards and codes including links to state code Web sites and energy codes industry sites.

This site, which is called the Industry’s Home Address on the World Wide Web, is designed for anyone involved directly in or working with the glass industry. A portal for flat glass and all related supplies and products, glass.com is utilized as a center hub of information to link to more specialized areas pertaining to the industry.
A variety of news sites and publications (including the Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal) are linked through the site, and a calendar of industry events is maintained. Subscription information is included for the publications, which cover a range of topics.
