AIA Continuing Education Update

EFCO Training Expands
EFCO Corp. is sponsoring free online educational seminars for architects, engineers and other construction professionals on AECDaily.com.

The Monett, Mo. based company is sponsoring two seminars. The first, by David DeSutter, the company’s director of engineering, covers such topics as determining and applying design pressure to buildings, wind speed measurements, exposure categories and impact protected glazing.

The second provides an overview of systems for rating the effectiveness of partitions, doors and windows in blocking sound. Specifically, the seminar focuses on sound transmission class, outdoor-indoor transmission class, basic acoustics and acoustical testing. It also demonstrates the importance in the fabrication and selection of fenestration products.

The programs will appear on AECDaily.com throughout the year and qualify for 1 Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) learning unit hour.

AECDaily.com provides access to educational resources, drag and drop compatible CAD details, building products information, industry news and discussion forums. The services of AECDaily.com are made available to architects, engineers, owners, interior designers, and construction professionals at no charge.

“EFCO is proud to work with AEC Daily to help offer these educational opportunities,” said Dave Hewitt, EFCO’s director of marketing. “As professionals, it’s critical that we all have the latest information on new technology and new techniques–and that’s what these seminars are designed to do.”
