REPAIR SYSTEMS

System Provides Quick Heat and Quick Dry

Liquid Resins of Olney, Ill., has introduced a heating and drying system which the company says uses forced hot air to heat windshields and dry cracks quickly. The 1-pound, 1-ounce system can dry water-filled breaks or heat repair areas quickly and evenly, the company says. In addition, the heating/dryer system can be operated with one hand, is push-button controlled and is housed in anodized aluminum. A 12-foot cigarette lighter adapter cord is included, as well as legs on the lower grill, which the company says help to prevent overheating of the glass.

In addition, a Resin Pump Assembly with a patented design used to recapture unused resin is also available. According to the company, the resin pump uses about one-third less resin than most other injectors, and it is the only injector with a built-in probe allowing users to apply pressure on the glass while the resin remains under pressure. The non-metallic construction is ultraviolet-resistant and features a patented cam lock which the company says holds pressure on the resin and break. Rubber tips, instead of o-rings seal to the glass, and Liquid Resins says no extra tools are necessary to work on vertical glass.

TOOLS

AEGIS® Introduces New Generation of Power Inverters and Glass Strippers

The New Generation Power Inverters from AEGIS Tools International of Madison, Wis., provide AC power to operate multiple equipment needs, including power tools such as windshield cutout knives, drills and heat guns, according to the company. AEGIS also says that with two different wave forms, pure-sine and quasi-sine, the New Generation series of DC to AC power inverters are an economical alternative to generators for all AC tools.

In addition, AEGIS introduced No Touch Heavy Duty Auto Glass Cleaner and Stripper which comes in an 8 ounce bottle. According to the company, this stripper is a strong cleaning agent specially formulated for stubborn stains on windshields. Not only does this stripper remove silicone build up, but AEGIS also says it removes hard water spots, oily mud, road tar and bugs.
