Repair Makes Waves in News
PR Newswire recently featured a story submitted by Pittsburgh-based PPG Prostars on whether consumers should repair or replace their windshields in the case of a break—encouraging repairs when the breaks are small and caught early.
“Repair can be a smart alternative to replacement under certain circumstances, and if it’s done properly,” said Carolyn Armentrout, senior account manager for the company. “If the chip spreads into a crack from vibrations or rapid temperature changes, it could mean you’d need to replace the glass.”
The story also encourages consumers to choose repair over replacement because insurance companies will often waive the deductible on a repair.
In other good news for the repair industry, Superglass Windshield Repair of Orlando, Fla., opened its 211th shop in early July.
