New Mate for GlassMate
National Auto Glass Specifications (NAGS®), a division of Mitchell International, has been certified to license Glaxis technology in the latest version of its GlassMate point-of-sale software. In phase one of Glaxis technology integration, GlassMate enables retail glass shops to receive electronic work assignments from LYNX Services and other fleet/insurance claims managers as well as handle additional part authorizations or approvals electronically.

Receiving the work assignments electronically is designed to eliminate data entry, reduce the length of time the glass shop spends on the phone with claims managers and improve the accuracy of insurance claims invoicing for lower invoice rejections so that shops get paid for insurance work faster. All additional part authorization approvals from the routine OEM moulding to the less common backlite slider can be received from LYNX Services electronically via the GlassMate software, eliminating long-distance phone calls to LYNX to receive approval for such parts. Additionally, based on job-specific insurance company business rules, the GlassMate software will alert front-line CSRs what parts require approval and prompt them to request approval when needed.

New from the Wiz
UltraWiz® brand tools, from A.N. Designs, will display three new items at the show in Tucson. The UltraThin Lever Knife 3008-K has been slimmed down for a new feel and fit in the technician’s hand. The new Interior Blades are designed to help make manual cut-outs from inside the vehicle, such as the Dodge pickup back glass. The Paint Protection Blades, based on the UltraWiz® UltraThin Blade, the 51C Series Paint Protection Blades, are designed to be stronger than any other blade, according to the supplier. Paint Protection Blades offer protection against scratching paint on vehicles with exposed pinchwelds. With enough clearance for the blade between the glass and body, concerns about scratching and pinchweld paint damage are reduced. The coated shank is narrow, the blade can easily maneuver around tight radius corners without damaging paint.
