The National Auto Glass Conference & Expo to be held at Marriot resort in Tucson
The National Glass Association (NGA) will hold its annual National Auto Glass Conference May 17-19 at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort in Tucson, Ariz.
The program gets underway after a golf tournament when Leo Cyr, the group’s vice president of auto glass, and Tom Lee, NGA chairperson of the board, host an industry exchange including information on the activities of the association’s auto glass division and its Coalition for Auto Glass Safety and Public Awareness (CASPA). The opening session closes with a speech by Gary Lubner, chief executive officer of Belron, the world’s largest AGR company, which has made a number of acquisitions in the U.S. in the past year.
The following morning, the seminar program opens with a session on side curtain airbags and rollover systems by Dave Long, North Memorial Medical Center, and Mitch Becker, ABRA Auto Body and Glass.
AGRR columnist Carl Tompkins of Sika Corp. will follow with a presentation on how to make a business more profitable by implementing good customer service practices over the telephone. The morning session closes out with Glen Moses, Safelite Glass Corp., discussing new vehicle technology at the Detroit Auto Show.
Gilbert Gutierrrez of Equalizer Industries Inc. will provide an auto glass installation demonstration after lunch.
The next morning’s first session is entitled The Manager’s Tool Kit with Kraig Kramers of Corporate Partners Inc.
Following that is an auto glass installation by Bob and Jay Beranek, Automotive Glass Consultants.
The education program ends with a seminar explaining the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS) with Cindy Minon-Ketcherside, AGRSS chairperson, Carl Tompkins, Bob Beranek, and AGRR columnist Steve Coyle of Performance Achievement Group.
The trade show will be open from 3 to 7 Thursday afternoon and noon to 3 on Friday afternoon. Information on the event is available at www.glass.org.
