NAHB Honors Leon N. Weiner
Leon N. Weiner, a home builder from Wilmington, Del., whose career spans more
than half a century, was honored as the conscience of the housing industry in
America at the 2002 International Builders Show of the National Association of
Home Builders (NAHB). Leon Weiner represents the very best of our great
industry, said NAHB 2001 president Bruce Smith in a ceremony held during NAHBs
board of directors meeting in Atlanta. He is a houser in the truest
sense of the worda man who has dedicated his 52-year career to the principle of
providing decent, affordable shelter for the American people. He is the conscience of
housing in America.
A life-size bronze bust of Weiner will be displayed in the lobby of the newly expanded and
renovated National Housing Center, which serves as NAHBs headquarters in
Washing-ton, D.C.
Weiner is chairperson and CEO of Leon N. Weiner & Associates Inc. of Wilmington, Del.
His company has constructed more than 5,000 single-family homes and 10,000 apartment units
since 1949. Weiner has served on three presidential commissions on housing and related
issues. He also served as president of NAHB in 1967 and was inducted into the Housing Hall
of Fame in 1979.

BFRich Gains Lacey as Sales Rep
BFRich Co. Inc. of Newark, Del., has added Timothy Lacey to its
staff as sales representative for New England. According to the company, Lacey has more
than 20 years of experience in window and door sales and is an active member of the Home
Builders and Remodelers Association.
