APPOINTMENTS
Milgard Windows Gains New President

Milgard Windows has named Jim Sweeney as its president and chief operating officer. Sweeney, who assumed the position on September 1, will relocate from his home in Southern California to the company’s headquarters in Tacoma, Wash. He joined Milgard in 1989 as general manager of the company’s Hollister, Calif., manufacturing facility then became general manager of the Temecula, Calif., facility in 1991 and in 1995 became the company’s southern regional manager. 

Sweeney succeeds Gary Milgard, who has been president since 1962; Milgard will remain at the company as chairperson and chief executive officer. 

Lauren Windows Names New Director of Manufacturing
Steve Klein is the new director of manufacturing for Lauren Windows in Cambridge, Ohio. His responsibilities will include overseeing production, engineering and purchasing activities.

Klein’s experience in the window industry includes previous manufacturing management positions with Pella Corp. and Windsor Windows. Most recently he served as plant manager for American Weatherseal.
 
“Klein is committed to the continuous improvement process, lean manufacturing techniques and new product development, which are all part of Lauren Windows’ commitment to providing excellent service and quality products,” said Dave Kruse, president of Lauren Windows. 

Pro-Line Automation Adds New Sales Reps
Pro-Line Automation Systems has added two new members to its sales team.

Jack Ramnauth, who has years of experience in the motion controls and automation industry, will be responsible for managing and expanding the company’s customer base in the Southeast. 

Brian Harris, a recent college graduate, will be responsible for the company’s Northeast territory.
