Window Demand to Increase in Coming Years
Worldwide demand for windows and doors is projected to rise 5.7 percent per year to $147 billion in 2007, according to the Freedonia Group in Cleveland. Brazil, China, India, Mexico and Turkey are expected to see the strongest gains—9.5 percent annually in China alone. These trends and more are presented in World Windows & Doors, a new study available from the Freedonia Group for $5,200.
Other trends discussed in the report include:
Window and door demand will accelerate in Western Europe and Japan;
Global demand for vinyl, fiberglass and other plastic door products will outpace increases for other product types; and
The residential building market dominated world window and door demand, accounting for two-thirds of all sales in 2002.
