Sika Promotes
Loven to Extended
Group Management
Sika Corp. has named William E. Loven to the extended group management of the company. He also serves as senior vice president of Sika Corp’s industry division and responsible for industry operations throughout the United States. With his new position he will act in an advisory function to the worldwide group management team.
Loven, who joined the company in 2000, has reorganized the division, increased business and brought new technologies into the company’s product range and streamlined operations according to the company.

NFRC Gains New
Director of Technical Services
The National Fenestration Rating Council has hired Ray McGowan as manager of technical services. McGowan, who has a background in Energy Star® buildings and products, will work on technical activities and documents and Department of Energy contracts.
WDMA Elects New
Board and Officers
The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) elected a new board of directors and officers recently.
Chris Simpson, vice president of marketing and sales for Pella Corp. is the new chair. Last year he served on the board as vice chair of the window division and prior to that he served as a regular board member.
Dave Beeken, president of Eagle Window and Door will serve as vice chair.
Jerry Mannigel, president of Marshfield Door Systems was re-elected as vice chair of the door division.
Linda Semling, vice president and general manager of Semling-Meke Co. was re-elected as treasurer.
New directors elected to the board are: Jay Lund, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Andersen Corp.;
George Gunia, national sales director, National Starch and Chemical; Mark
Watson, president, Great Lakes Window; Harry Reichwald, executive vice president and general manger, Eggers Industries;
Paul Rogers, vice president, sales and marketing, Truth Hardware; and Bob
Doyle, senior vice president and general manager, Therma-Tru Doors.
RESTRUCTURING
Amesbury Makes
Changes; Adds New Hires
BSI-Balance Systems, part of the Amesbury Group, has hired Wayne Steinhauer as its general manager. His responsibilities will include the balance manufacturing at several Amesbury Group facilities including Sioux Falls, S.D., Statesville, N.C., Reno, Nev. and Brampton, Ontario.
The Amesbury Group’s Reno location has announced that Tim Quarry, who previously served as an account executive with 3M Corp., will serve as West Coast sales manager. He will be responsible for sales for all eight of the company’s divisions in that territory.
BSI Hardware has also an-nounced some changes in its door and window hardware division.
Cliff Schulz, director of sales and marketing/door hardware, will move from a combination of door and window hardware coverage in the Western United States and Canada to an expanded territory coverage of the entire United States and Canada.
Howard Babbitt, director of sales and marketing/window hardware, will expand his territory from the Eastern United States and Canada to the entire United States and Canada. Schulz and Babbitt have been with Amesbury for two and ten years, respectively.
NEW HIRES
Fasco Hires
National Sales Manager
Fasco of Mississauga, Ontario, has hired Matt Szymanski as its new national sales manager, hardware products. Szymanski will be responsible for managing customer accounts, developing the company’s distributor network and marketing the company’s hardware lines.
VT Industries
Adds to Sales Team
VT Industries has announced several changes/promotions in its sales department.
Tim Petersen, who has been with the company for more than a year, will serve as national sales manager. Lee Dunn will serve as Southeast regional sales manager.
Bill Franz joins the team as a territory sales representative in Colorado, Montana, New Mexico and Wyoming.
Cory Linn also joins the sales force as a territory representative in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa. She previously served as an account specialist for the company.
Tom Tuttle joins the sales team as a new territory sales representative in Indiana, Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky and the St. Louis Metro area.
Chelsea Hires
Two New Employees
Chelsea Building Products has hired Terry Abels as its new vice president of sales and marketing. He has previously served as vice presdent of manufacturing for the company and has also worked for various other companies involved in the vinyl extrusion and vinyl window industry.
The company has also hired Dennis Northcutt as its new field sales manager. Northcutt will be responsible for calling on new accounts and introducing the new line of Trust Series windows for use in the remodeling and new construction markets. Previously, he sold vinyl windows and patio doors for Great Lakes Windows to distributors and dealers in the Southwest.
BHMA Hires Ralph Vasami
Ralph Vasami has joined the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association as its director of codes and regulatory affairs. Vasami, who began his career with Fiberlux, also served as chair of the Vinyl Window and Door Institute where he was responsible for gaining Model Building Code acceptance for vinyl as a fenestration product. He also played a large role in setting up testing and standards for the product ass well as the current industry certification program.
