Prolux Paints Adhere to PVC Substrates
Prolux Paints Inc. of Montreal has introduced a new polyurethane acrylic paint for PVC substrates. The durable paints have been tested for both impact resistance and heat build-up. In an accelerated UV-water exposure test, the paint was found to have high gloss retention, with more than 90 percent of initial gloss preserved. In addition, it featured no blistering or chalking. According to the company, the paint also provides 100-percent adhesion to PVC substrates. The company offers numerous standard colors and color matching.
CSS Lamination Can Cover It All
Custom Surface Solution Inc. (CSS) of Woodbridge, Ontario, offers interior/exterior window and door lamination. The company provides lamination services for vinyl, aluminum, MDF, fiberglass or real wood surfaces in Canada and the United States.
To resist the harshest of exterior elements, the company uses a hard surface film that it says will not scratch easily. For laminating interior products, a vinyl film specifically tested and approved for such an environment is used. The company also carries a wide selection of laminate colors.
CSS is capable of profile wrapping virtually anything, according to information from the company. This includes flat panel designs and contoured shapes ranging from one thousand to one million feet.
Coating Simulates Appearance of Wood
Naturall, now available in the U.S. through Techline America, simulates the appearance of wood fibers, granite and marble, as well as custom selections, on aluminum frames.
The coating system applies two consecutive layers of polyester powders on the aluminum for a layer a minimum of 60 microns thick. The polymerization of the two layers creates the appearance of wood. The system can coat profiles up to 7 meters long and sheets up to 4 by 1.25 meters. According to the company, the specially formulated polyester powders provide durability, quality and resistance to weathering conditions and outdoor UV exposure. Naturall also offers high shock- and abrasion-resistance, according to the company.
Texture selections range from smooth surfaces to a more wrinkled or matte finish. Different patterns and colors are available to reproduce the popular wood effect.
