The locking system, which meets AAMA specifications, is comprised of an ergonomically designed interior “Malibu” handle set, a mounting base, a latch lever and an exterior pull. Customers can currently choose from 2-point, 4-point and 6-point lock assemblies. The company plans to add another interior handle design to the TITAN series in the coming months. TITAN’s 2-point version has two opposing hooks to prevent the door panel from being lifted off the track and out of the frame. All lock assemblies have a mishandling device to prevent damage to the locking hooks when closing the door. In addition, on the interior assembly, the mounting screws are side-mounted for a cleaner appearance. 

Available in both locking and non-locking configurations, TITAN has a locking/unlocking detent feature that indicates positive lock or unlock status. For maximum security, the non-locking version is available with a security plate and an anti-drill feature on the exterior pull.

TITAN is available in three standard colors, G2 white, blue white and almond as well as seven architectural finishes including brass, antique brass, chrome, brushed chrome, oil rubbed bronze, pewter and brushed nickel. Visions 3000 Line Meets SCS Recycling Guidelines
Mosinee, Wis.-based Visions® Windows & Doors says that its Visions 3000 vinyl windows and patio doors have achieved third-party certification for recycled material content by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS).

“This certification affirms that our brand really lives up to homeowners’ expectations of ‘thinking smart’ by adhering to stringent product excess guidelines and a strong focus on the environment,” says Rich Harding, environmental manager for the company. “In creating Visions 3000, we considered how to reduce the amount of waste leaving our facilities by engineering products with a higher percentage of recycled material content.”

Nordson Introduces Purblue™ EC Melters
The Duluth, Ga.-based Nordson Corp. says its new PURBlue EC melters simplify the use of reactive polyurethane (PUR) adhesives. The melters incorporate a unique easy-to-clean design that makes clean-up and maintenance quick and effortless, according to the company.

Nordson says the new melter’s components that come in contact with PUR adhesive, including the tank, grid, reservoir and pump block, can be dismantled easily for cleaning. To further simplify maintenance, PURBlue EC melters feature pump shutoff valves and quick-disconnect heater and sensor cables.

Edgetech Launches SuperSpacer nXt™
Cambridge, Ohio-based Edgetech I.G. has introduced the Super Spacer nXt, which combines the same desiccant and acrylic adhesive as its other products with a new proprietary core. It is available in a variety of standard colors with a metallic appearance that mocks the look of a metal spacer.

The new warm-edge spacer is designed to provide hybrid foam insulation, low thermal conductivity and little thermal condensation. In addition, the company says its hybrid foam features good ultraviolet resistance, high and low temperature performance, a good dew-point drop and enhanced sound dampening. The Super Spacer nXt’s reverse dual-seal design utilizes an outer hot-melt butyl sealant for long-term moisture durability and gas retention, an inner structural acrylic side adhesive and no cold flow or spacer-seal migration problems. Edgetech says the Super Spacer nXt provides for the elimination of desiccant filling, no corner key assembly, simplified production of shaped units, high-volume production with reduced labor force and a limited equipment investment.
