DOOR HARDWARE Get the Strength of a TITAN™ from Roto TITAN, a new sliding patio door locking system that combines strength and security with installation flexibility, is now available from Chester, Conn.-based Roto Frank of America Inc. The locking system, which meets AAMA specifications, is comprised of an ergonomically designed interior “Malibu” handle set, a mounting base, a latch lever and an exterior pull. Customers can currently choose from 2-point, 4-point and 6-point lock assemblies. The company plans to add another interior handle design to the TITAN series in the coming months. TITAN’s 2-point version has two opposing hooks to prevent the door panel from being lifted off the track and out of the frame. All lock assemblies have a mishandling device to prevent damage to the locking hooks when closing the door. In addition, on the interior assembly, the mounting screws are side-mounted for a cleaner appearance. Available in both locking and non-locking configurations, TITAN has a locking/unlocking detent feature that indicates positive lock or unlock status. For maximum security, the non-locking version is available with a security plate and an anti-drill feature on the exterior pull. TITAN is available in three standard colors, G2 white, blue white and almond as well as seven architectural finishes including brass, antique brass, chrome, brushed chrome, oil rubbed bronze, pewter and brushed nickel. Custom colors, custom handles and custom logos on the escutcheon are available upon request. Trim packages include an interior handle, a mounting base, a latch lever, and an exterior pull. Locking configurations are available keyed alike or keyed random. Strikers with varying heights and cylinders in either a chrome face or brass face are also available. www.rotohardware.com Simonton Offers New Series of Replacement Patio Door Hardware The new hardware options also include an external keyed lock and multi-point locking system. The hardware options can be added to Simonton’s replacement patio doors made of white, tan or driftwood vinyl, or the company’s popular woodgrain interior patio doors. “The new patio door hardware options allow homeowners to coordinate the interior of their homes by customizing their hardware accent pieces in different rooms,” says Christopher Burk of Simonton Windows. “Each of the new hardware packages add a warm, elegant look to a replacement patio door and provide years of durability.” www.simonton.com COMPONENTS WEATHERMATE straight flashing is designed to provide seamless protection at jambs and straight heads. In addition, the Shutterless thermal products eliminate the need to spend time putting up plywood or waste storage space when not in use and provide continual added protection. To further simplify maintenance, PURBlue EC melters feature pump shutoff valves and quick-disconnect heater and sensor cables. In addition to these features, an inert gas blanket protects adhesive from moisture to prevent premature curing, according to the company. www.nordson.com SPACERS The new warm-edge spacer is designed to provide hybrid foam insulation, low thermal conductivity and little thermal condensation. In addition, the company says its hybrid foam features good ultraviolet resistance, high and low temperature performance, a good dew-point drop and enhanced sound dampening. The Super Spacer nXt’s reverse dual-seal design utilizes an outer hot-melt butyl sealant for long-term moisture durability and gas retention, an inner structural acrylic side adhesive and no cold flow or spacer-seal migration problems. Edgetech says the Super Spacer nXt provides for the elimination of desiccant filling, no corner key assembly, simplified production of shaped units, high-volume production with reduced labor force and a limited equipment investment. The new spacer also offers good color stability, smooth consistent surface finish, no surface blistering or bubbling and straight-line application with sharp 90-degree corners, according to the company. www.superspacer.com
