FFI Adds Roberts as Business Development Director
Functional Fenestration Inc. (FFI) has hired Jim Roberts as director
of business development. Roberts previously served as president of Winkhaus
In addition, Roberts also is a past division sales manager for Weiser
Lock/Kwikset (Black and Decker Hardware Group).
In his new role, Roberts is responsible for the development of the FFI’s
sales team and strategic planning. He also serves on the company’s product
FFI also recently hired Alison Elder as controller. Elder recently completed
the contracts for the addition of a second 22,000-square-foot facility
in Hawthorne, Calif., which doubles the company’s shipping capacity, according
to a statement from FFI.
VEKA Makes Organizational Changes
VEKA North America recently appointed Alan Funovits to the position
of vice president of sales. He will retain his current responsibilities,
but now also will oversee the company’s customer service and innovations
Kevin Seiling has been named vice president of engineering and new
business development. He previously served as director or engineering
for the company.
Windsor Windows and Doors Names New President, COO
Windsor Windows and Doors has promoted Mark Rieser to president,
and Richard Stephens to the newly created position of chief operating
John Smit, Windsor’s president for the past 21 years, will officially
retire at the end of the year, but will remain a member of the board of
directors of Windsor’s parent company, Woodgrain Millwork Inc., in Fruitland,
Rieser has served as vice president of sales and marketing at Windsor
since 2002. In conjunction with being named president, he also will assume
Smit’s parallel post as window division vice president for Woodgrain Millwork.
Rieser has worked nearly 20 years in the industry.
Stephens currently serves as vice president of manufacturing. As COO,
he will be in charge of Windsor’s plants in West Des Moines, Iowa, and
Monroe, N.C., plus Woodgrain’s Atrium Patio Door Company in Greenville,
Texas, and Monarch Window and Door Co. in Anniston, Ala. Stephens has
been in the industry for nearly 30 years; he came to Windsor in 1993.
Former Weiser Exec Bill Kushlick Joins Dusco
Bill Kushlick, a former GE, Stanley and Weiser executive, has joined
forces with Dusco Doors Ltd. as president/business development, for its
new Stanley Doors initiative. Kushlick, most recently the president and
chief operating officer of Taiga Building Products, will be responsible
for new business development and a drive to increase brand awareness of
the new line of
Stanley Doors products throughout North America.
Stanley recently granted Dusco Doors Ltd. of Montreal the exclusive license
to manufacture and market Stanley Doors in North America.
The new product line will be sold as Stanley Doors and will include insulating
entry door systems in fiberglass and steel, patio doors, decorative glass
and associated components.
ProBuild Names Bill Myrick CEO
ProBuild Holdings Inc. has named Bill Myrick as its new chief executive
officer. He succeeds Paul Hylbert, who is stepping aside from day-to-day
responsibilities after having been ProBuild’s CEO since January of 2007.
Hylbert will continue to serve as a senior advisor and director of ProBuild’s
ProBuild’s chief operating officer for the past two years, Myrick has
nearly 30 years experience in the home building industry. He joined ProBuild
in 2007 as senior vice president of strategic initiatives.
AAMA Hires Southeast Region Codes Consultant
The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has hired
Dwight Wilkes as the association’s consultant regarding codes issues in
the Southeast Region of the United States. As a part of this consultant
role, Wilkes will utilize his existing relationships with key staff and
officials in the Florida Building Commission, and Southeast Region state
and local building and energy code organizations to help keep AAMA’s members
informed about code changes affecting the Southeast states. He also will
analyze the effects of proposed state code changes in order to determine
the impact on the industry, specifically on the business and products
of AAMA member companies.
Wilkes is a former building official in St. John’s County, Fla., and comes
to this consulting role with extensive experience as a plans examiner
