Taking Marketing to the Big Screen
Traditional signage and displays just wouldn’t do for Allied Building
Products. The company is taking a whole new approach to its in-store marketing
displays, complete with video animation created by Spectrio, a provider
of audio and digital display solutions. The campaign is centered on providing
Allied’s retail locations with graphics and video for its in-store promotional
displays, most recently at its Hicksville, N.Y., Cleveland, Ohio, and
East Rutherford, N.J., locations.
It incorporates Spectrio’s VideoCast signage technology,
which is developed for the promotional video screens in Allied’s three
locations. The content can be changed easily changed as needed, resulting
in an efficient marketing tool that can be seen by all customers who enter
the stores.

Take the Cold Out of Cold Calling
Want to get that next sale? A new book could help. The American Association
of Inside Sales Professionals (AA-ISP) awarded Minneapolis, Minn.-based
best-selling author Sam Richter with its 2012 Sales Book of the Year Award
for “Take the Cold Out of Cold Calling.” The AA-ISP membership of more
than 1,500 companies across the country selected it from a list of sales
books published in 2012. According to the announcement, the organization
awarded Richter with its award because of the book’s innovative techniques
for helping sales professionals find and use information to identify qualified
leads and ensure relevancy in sales calls, among other items.
