Kitsilano Glass Offers New Collection of Designs
Kitsilano Glass of Richmond, British Columbia, recently introduced a new collection of designs for doorlites, sidelites and transoms.

This new series is comprised of two traditional designs as well as two contemporary offerings. The combination of custom bevels and a tasteful selection of clear textured glass would make any of these new styles a timeless addition to any entryway, said the company.

All units are available in standard steel-door sizes, or they may be customized for wood-door requirements. Matching rectangular, eliptical and half-round transoms are available as glass-only or can be supplied in frames.

The newly formed BenchmarkHMF offers one-stop shopping for commercial, steel-door systems, including the availability of custom and standard doors, door frames and custom-engineered openings. BenchmarkHMF is a division of Therma-Tru Doors with locations in Fredericksburg, Va.; Phoenix, and Wilmington, N.C. The molding of Benchmark and HMF provides customers with greater flexibility in selection and delivery options; next-day and even same-day delivery are available through express delivery services, said the company.

From flush and embossed doors, to doors with louvers and lites, BenchmarkHMF says it offers a full complement of doors and door styles to meet any design and technical specification. Custom engineered openings provide flexibility for unique applications, and hollow frames are also available, including frames for masonry and drywall applications for new construction, remodeling and retrofit, said the company.

Onsrud Cutter of Libertyville, Ill., has expanded its CNC solid-surface router bit offering by adding a “V” rove and core box bit used to fabricate coved backsplashes. Two 42-degree v-grooves and one 3/8-inch cove are routed into the material and the resulting cut folds up to make a maintenance-free backsplash on a solid surface top.

Gardon Green Offers Joint Guard and Treflite
Gardon Products Inc., of Wall, N.J., has introduced two new products: Joint Guard, an epoxy sealant for expansion joints, and Treflite, an epoxy floor resurfacer.

JOINT GUARD Joint Guard provides a durable flexible epoxy seal that it says will not become brittle and break out with movement. Flexing up to 50 percent so expansion joint repairs stay in place, Joint Guard’s 100-percent solids formula stands up to heavy traffic and chemical contact.

According to Gardon, Joint Guard is pourable, self-leveling, self-priming and will not shrink. TREFLITE

  Treflite provides an almost indestructible finish to old and new floors, according to the company. Treflite will not shrink and bonds to surfaces such as concrete, wood, steel, aluminum, glass and ceramics. Gardon adds that Treflite is resistant to thermal and physical shock, abrasions, acids, alkalis and solvents. 



Door Inserts
International Stone Offers Marble and Granite Door Inserts

International Stone Design of Dallas is offering ultra-light reinforced marble and granite door inserts. With more than 200 colors in marble, granite, limestone and onyx, these tough, durable and low maintenance panels weigh only 3.3 pounds per square foot—about the same as a ¼-inch-thick piece of glass, said the company.

Winstrom Offers Jalousie Storm Doors
WINSTROM Winstrom Manufacturing of Park Forest, Ill., is offering the old-fashioned charm of a jalousie window in a storm door. “These glass-louvered windows refuse to go out of style,” said Ron Feldman, company president. “So now we’re building our own jalousie windows and installing them into our Perma-Kore and Bolted-Kore storm doors.”

The company builds these traditional windows for half-panel and full-lite doors. The 11-louver jalousie fits nicely with the company’s colonial- or heritage-style half panel doors, said the company.

APA Offers Information on Wall-Frame Sections
APA APA—The Engineered Wood Association, based in Tacoma, Wash., recently completed a full-scale destructive testing and analysis of narrow wall frame sections that are designed to resist high winds and earthquakes around garages and other large openings. The designs are the subject of APA’s new publication, Sturd-I-Frames for Narrow Wall Bracing.

This publication describes Sturd-I-Frame®, a site-built wall-frame section that provides the strength and stiffness of a bracing unit and offers options for engineered designs.
