Window Sill Pan Protects Property
Astro Plastics of Covington, Ga., has created ASTROpan™, a door and window sill pan system that it says protects property against water and moisture damage. 

The ASTROpan system channels water outside, limiting risk of water intrusion that could result in rot and mold.
The company says the ASTROpan system is easy to install on the jobsite. Adhesive caulk is included in the kits, which are packaged in 24 sets for 3-0 rough openings and 12 sets for 6-0 rough openings.

Vetter Unveils Raised Panel Door
Vetter® Windows & Doors of Mosinee, Wis., has unveiled its wood-hinged patio door with new raised panels.
Single- or two-panel inserts are available for placement above the patio door’s foot rail. Both the interior and exterior of the panels have a raised profile. On the interior, the raised panels are available in pine, oak, maple, cherry or mahogany to match the patio door. The exterior of the panel is either primed or finished with a special sprayed-on metal coating painted in the Vetter clad color chosen for the door’s exterior.

Vetter’s wood hinged patio doors are available in out-swing, in-swing and center-hinged styles and have a clear natural pine interior. All of the interior wood species come ready to stain, seal or paint. 

The wood-hinged patio door is available in 2-1/4-inch panels or the standard 1-3/4-inch panel in 6-foot by 8-inch, 6-foot by 10-inch, 7-foot by 2-inch, 8-, 9- and 10-foot heights.

Peachtree Expands Entry-Door Offerings

FrontLine Building Products of Green Bay, Wis., supplies door prehang shops with 16-gauge extruded aluminum jamb covers and three nosing profiles that are in brickmould, the crown line and slim line.

Masonite International Corp. announced on March 2nd that it has completed the acquisition of the residential entry door business of The Stanley Works.

It operates more than 70 facilities in twelve countries in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa and has over 12,000 employees. Stanley’s entry door business manufactures and pre-hangs steel and fiberglass residential entry doors and entry systems for sale primarily to the retail home improvement market in the United States. Stanley’s entry door business has state of the art facilities in Charlotte, N.C., Langley, British Columbia, Winchester, Va., Garland, Texas, and Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Woodfold-Marco Offers Accordion and Roll-Up Doors

The decorative selection includes caming of brass, zinc, black patina and liquid crystal. RSL supplies its domestic and international customer base from warehouse facilities in Atlanta, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Sacramento, Calif. The company has manufacturing facilities in New Jersey and Ohio.

The company is one of the only doorlite manufacturers that offers a lifetime warranty on both its glass and frames, for both decorative and clear-glass inserts. Young Offers Patented Doorframe
Beaver Dam, Ky.-based Young Manufacturing’s Clad Plus II is the patented (U.S. Patent #6,161,343, U.S. Patent #6,125,605) rot-free, low-maintenance doorframe, which the company says never needs painting. 

Clad Plus II is constructed of treated hardwood encased in vinyl. To prevent wicking, insulators are used on the ends of all vertical components, and a zipper attachment eliminates exposed fasteners.

Contact Offers Products for Builders’ Needs
Contact Lumber Co. of Clackamas, Ore., has introduced a wide range of new products to meet the millwork needs of builders.

Advances in finger-jointing technology have allowed Contact to offer natural wood-wrapped mouldings in just about any species or profile. Mouldings come in clear 16-foot lengths, which the company says simplifies installation and eliminates shorts at the distributor’s warehouse. Contact also produces 16-foot lengths of stair rail that can be used for single piece straight installations or can be mitered and matched for more complicated staircases. 

Contact Lumber’s wide range of door frame products offer trouble-free installation with features such as machining for hinges and strikes, predrilled sill holes, and pre-installed hinges, weather strip and corner seals, according to the company. 

Among the options are Contact’s Exterior Stainable Vinyl® clad frame for use in fiberglass entry systems and Everon®, a low maintenance, exterior PVC-clad frame that won’t chip, peel or fade and never requires painting. 

Contact’s latest innovation is its Quick-Ship™ distribution program, whereby dealers and distributors can order small quantities of certain profiles and receive shipment within two weeks.

Norfield Introduces the 5000SS
Norfield Industries of Chico, Calif., a leader in pre-hung door machinery, introduces its newest and most advanced Model 5000 series system—the new 5000SS high-speed system.

The company says the 5000SS is designed to meet the needs of door shops requiring faster cycle times, improved reliability and improved ergonomics. The new system is able to produce a pre-hung door unit every 25 seconds, using features such as automated screwfeeding, sequential timing, enhanced touch-screen operator controls and a simplified assembly center process.

The 5000SS consists of a 5200SS loader, 5000SS machining center and 5100SS assembly center. High frequency router motors for hinge and faceplate routing is an available option on all new models of 5000 systems.
