PATIO DOORS
Performance Hinges on the Right Patio Door
Fiber-Classic® and Smooth-Star® patio door systems from Maumee, Ohio-based Therma-Tru are available in a wide variety of sizes for new construction and remodeling, including 8-foot tall systems. 

The new line of hinged patio systems will include center-hinged, jamb-hung and French door (active/passive) configurations.

The Fiber-Classic and Smooth-Star hinged patio door systems come in—white, almond, stone and bronze. These doors feature standard low-E glass, a high-performance adjustable stone finish sill, a High-Heat Composite™ frame and proprietary adjustable security strike plate that withstands 450 pounds of force.
The company says these door systems won’t warp, crack, rot, swell or split like wood patio doors, or rust, ding or dent like aluminum or steel.

Peachtree OffersFrench and Traditional Patio Doors
Gainesville, Ga.,-based Peachtree Doors and Windows offers the 500 Series of aluminum clad patio doors, which include center-hinged and French-style swing-in and swing-out designs, and wide-stile French and traditional narrow-stile sliding patio doors. 

The 500 Series, available in 6 feet, 8 inches, 6 feet, 11 inches, and 8 feet, feature pine interiors which are ready to stain, seal or paint to match a home’s décor. 

The company says the extruded aluminum clad exteriors are durable, low maintenance and resist denting, fading and chipping. Cladding is available in five standard pre-finished colors: classic white, ivory, pebble tan, forest green and sierra brown.

Sliding Glass Door Comes with Multiple Hardware Colors
Milgard Windows of Tacoma, Wash., has created a fiberglass French patio sliding glass door, which is available in either the Ultra prefinished white interior or the WoodClad stainable VG fir interior.

Patio Doors have Cleaner Sightlines
Weather Shield Windows & Doors of Medford, Wis., has a new sliding patio door and French sliding patio door. The new designs feature a look with cleaner sightlines and architecturally proportioned stiles and rails, according to the company.

The new slider system has improved rollers and a new door channel design that guide the moving panel. In addition, the company says new weather-stripping systems and design innovations improve thermal efficiency and aesthetics. 

Both doors feature a standard DP-35 design-pressure rating, with a DP-50 upgrade available that complies with some of the strictest building-code requirements in the country.

ProV 200 Has Wide Stiles and Rails
Vetter® Windows & Doors of Mosinee, Wis., is offering a new ProV 200 French sliding patio door to compliment the full line of ProV 200 premium vinyl windows available. 

The ProV 200 features wide stiles and rails in low-maintenance PVC with high-impact modifiers and UV stabilizers for durability. Bommer Reintroduces Ball Tip-Style Hinge
Bommer Industries Inc. of Landrum, S.C., has reintroduced its famous ball tip-style hinge—enabling homeowners to enjoy an original design from the original manufacturer.

Charlie Martin, president of Bommer Industries, says the reintroduction reflects the company’s investment into better equipment and more efficient processes at a time when competitors have cut back their manufacturing operations to focus on selling cheap imports.

The company says the program is quick and easy to setup and includes merchandising tools like category signage and aisle talkers in addition to new bold packaging that coordinates the look of the program.
