Snodgrass Appointed to International Trade Commission
Oregon Governor Ted Kulongowski recently appointed Jim Snodgrass, vice president of export sales for Portland, Ore.-based Contact Lumber Co., to serve a four-year appointment on the stateís International Trade Commission.
Snodgrass will serve alongside 14 other Oregon business executives and two state Senators on the commission, whose job it is to assist the international division of the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department in planning and developing policy initiatives related to international trade.
Originally established in 1995, the commission was expanded last year by the Oregon State Legislature from nine to 15 appointees. The Governorís office is hopeful that the commissionís work will be helpful in stimulating job growth and the stateís economy. Snodgrass was selected because of his own and his companyís experience in the international trade arena and to help fulfill the Governorís desire to have representation from both the natural resources sector and from eastern Oregon. Peachtree Names Kibler Brand Manager
Peachtreeģ Doors & Windows of Gainesville, Ga., recently named Jeff Kibler as brand manager. As brand manager, Kibler will plan and execute Peachtreeís marketing plan, assist in new product development and introductions, support special customer requests and develop customer support tools.
Kiblerís background includes more than 11 years in the window and door industry, most recently as brand manager for a national architectural window brand. In this position, Kibler has overseen product development and sales and marketing activities, including developing architectural support materials. Previously, he was a product specialist and product manager for two other national window brands.
Kibler has a bachelorís degree in advanced technical studies and an associateís degree in architectural technology from Southern Illinois University.
Chris Brown, who recently held the positions of both Peachtree brand manager and national sales manager, will remain national sales manager and focus his efforts on directing the Peachtree sales team in developing existing and new customer relationships.
Republic Windows Names Widner Director of Manufacturing
Chicago-based Republic Windows & Doors has named Tim Widner, formerly director of glass operations, to the position of director of manufacturing. In his new role, Widner will oversee all of the companyís manufacturing operations.
Widner joined Republic in 1998 as glass manufacturing manager and prior to that he worked for Arch Aluminum and Glass in Indianapolis.
|Precision Hires New Engineer
Precision Entry, a producer of steel and fiberglass entry door systems based in Sugarcreek, Ohio, has recently added Chris Nolt to its engineering team.
According to Precisionís engineering manager, Scott Widmer, Nolt will begin administrating all product testing and NFRC, Energy Starģ, and building code certification requirements for Precision Entry and its sister company, Sugarcreek Industries. Nolt will also be assessing nationwide building code developments and will be preparing test report packages for state-certified product approval lists.
Nolt has a bachelorís degree in mechanical engineering from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. He has worked at Rolls-Royce providing international engineering support for industrial and marine gas turbines. Most recently, Nolt worked at Honda R&D Americas in Marysville, Ohio, as an associate engineer in engine research.
