Specialty Board Lines Available
Windsor, Calif.-based WindsorONE now has available a selection of specialty boards.
The company’s tongue-and-groove bead boards (SPBC and WOBC) feature standard and wide center beads. When installed, the bead provides tight seams and reduces gaps between boards. The bead board is available in a 4/4 thickness and a six-inch width or a 5/8 thickness with a four-inch width.
The company also now offers interior reversible shiplap (WORS) with notched edges that overlap to provide a traditional design detail. The shiplap is available in a 4/4 thickness and six-inch width. Both specialty boards are available in a 16-foot length.
In addition, WindsorONE has finger-jointed wood boards suitable for exterior applications including rake, fascia, corner boards and band boards. With smooth, knot-free surfaces and precision square edges, the S4SSE is available in 4/4 or 5/4 thicknesses, with width sizes varying from 2 to 12 inches and 12-foot and 16-foot lengths.
Dow Offers Machinable Fiberboard MR
Dow BioProducts Ltd., of Midland, Mich., now offers moisture-resistant machinable fiberboard, designed to perform in interior applications with inadvertent water contact. The fiberboard is engineered to reduce internal stresses that can lead to thickness swell and maintain mechanical properties after exposure to water. In addition, the fiber geometry in the surface of products, combined with exterior grade glue, minimizes grain raise.

Trinity Doors Adds Decoration Inside and Out
Trinity International Inc., of Tacoma, Wash., offers several collections of decorative exterior doors. The St. Jane collection, for instance, features solid brass, zinc or patina caming with handcrafted beveled glass.
Clear and gray textured glass, rippled wave glass and NeXt Generation frame technology are also incorporated. Other collections include the Phoenix, Solitaire and Designer ones. Decorative entry systems can be created by mixing options such as transoms and sidelites available from each collection.
Signamark, a division of Trinity, offers interior doors in three standard wood species,Prime Advantage, StainTru pine and StainTru red oak. The decorative doors feature brass, zinc or patina bevel lites and double angle-grooved glass designs.
Boise Building Offers New Solutions
Boise Building Solutions, of Boise, Idaho, has introduced a selection of new products to its lines.
According to the company, the AllJoist I-joist framing product AJS-140 increases design values and spans and is available in lengths up to 48 feet. The product features 2 ½-inch wide machine stress-rated flanges of black spruce for a wide nailing surface. The AllJoist series incorporates the benefits of engineered wood I-joists, such as no shrinking or twisting and the ability to be used in continuous span applications.
In addition, Versa-Lam 1.7E marks the availability of a new line of laminated veneer lumber (LVL) products, an alternative to dimension lumber and laminated strand lumber. Versa-Lam 1.7E is constructed primarily from 1/6-inch thick Southern pine veneers, laminated with all grain parallel to the lengths of the member. It is available in a thickness of 5 ¼-inch.
Hy-Lite Products Adds Color to Block Windows
Colorful acrylic block windows, partitions and radius walls are now available from Hy-Lite Products. The Beaumont, Calif.-based company offers the blocks in green wave, blue wave, rose wave and peach wave, in 6- and 8-inch squares. According to a company news release, the blocks are 70 percent lighter than conventional glass blocks, making them suitable for almost any location in the home.
In addition, the company now offers its Builder series of vinyl framed acrylic block windows. The all-vinyl frame was designed to increase thermal efficiency for the unit, while the multiple-chambered profile adds strength to the frame. The prefabricated block units provide an airtight seal to prevent internal condensation and a specially developed caulk between the blocks resists mold and mildew. The blocks are available in a wide variety of sizes.
Jaroff Offers Custom Exterior Doors
Jaroff Custom Entryways Inc., of Hicksville, N.Y., is offering custom designs for exterior doors. The doors’ standard features include a fully-welded stainless steel integrated core, insulating glass and a 3- by 7-foot standard size. In addition, doors are pre-hung with frame and weather stripping and come hardware-ready.
The company’s doors are available either single or double, with the option of transoms and side lites. All doors are available in stainless steel, solid copper, solid brass or solid bronze. Jaroff collections include Moderna, Celestial, Gothic and Monolith.

Puts Art Into Windows
JJJ Specialty Co. of Minneapolis has added Premier grilles to its custom grille line with Art Glass inserts. Available in 16 stained glass colors and custom sized for each window, the Art Glass grilles feature hand-cut stained glass inserts. The glass is held in place with a 5/8-inch solid wood grille bar. A push-pin style fastening device is designed to accommodate any type of wood window.
Simpson Doors Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright
Simpson Door Co., of McCleary, Wash., has expanded its Craftsman collection of entry doors to include new architecturally-inspired glass options. Based on Frank Lloyd Wright’s signature design style, the collection now features 36 exterior door designs with matching transoms and sidelites. The new glass options feature geometric patterns of clear beveled, clear textured and cobalt art glass, set apart by black caming.
In addition, the company has added the Bungalow series, a new collection of exterior doors. The series features a 1 7/16-inch beaded v-groove Innerbond double hip-raised panel. The doors are offered in multiple sash and panel door designs and configurations. All sash doors feature patented ViewSaver technology, which uses ¾-inch insulating glazing for energy efficiency.
Each of the company’s doors comes standard in Douglas fir, Western hemlock and American red oak, or can be constructed in most custom wood species.
ODL Enhances Line of Decorative Windows
ODL, of Zeeland, Mich., reported that it has upgraded its decorative bath windows by incorporating a maintenance-free PVC exterior frame in the windows’ design. According to a company press release, the PVC frame will not rot, peel, splinter or decay like traditional wood frames.
The company has also added three window design styles to its line of decorative windows. The Tripoli window features glue chip and alabaster glass with glue chip bevels and patina caming. The Impressions window uses the company’s Breakthrough-resistant glass with clear bevels, streamed, iced granite and clear renaissance glass. The window has no caming in the design and can be used where impact-resistant products are requested. Other designs in the series include Expressions, Interpretations, Silhouettes and Majestic. Each energy efficient window features insulating tempered glass with an outside layer of obscure glass to ensure privacy for the homeowner while still admitting light into the home.
Republic Unveils New Garden Windows
Chicago-based Republic Windows & Doors offers an expanded view of the outdoors with their new garden window. The window uses trapezoid casements lites, on the working lites opening up the siteline. Moreover, the window features a beveled exterior and can be ordered with decorative V-groove glass, designed to catch the sunlight like a prism, or decorative grids, available in several patterns. A tempered glass shelf can expand a homeowner’s display area for more plants and collectibles.
Pollard Windows Feature Split Finish
Pollard Windows Inc. has introduced a split finish option to its Advantage line of lead-free vinyl windows. The new windows are white on the interior and have the option of silver sand, pearl white or autumn ivory on the exterior.
According to company information, the color pigment blends directly into the vinyl during the extrusion process, resulting in a permanent chemical bond between the two finishes. The Advantage windows are available in a wide variety of styles including Caribbean awning, decorative, fixed lite, and Tudor casement.
Architectural Doors Feature Formica Laminates
The new architectural door collection from the Formica Corp. features attractive, resilient, high-pressure laminate (HPL) applied to door surfaces. From exotic wood species and painted wood looks to vibrant solid and optical color patterns, customers can special order from a wide range of Formica surfaces. Choices include 42 stock patterns and more than 250 colors.
According to company information, the high-pressure laminate doors are able to stand up against impacts, scuffs and stains, won’t crack or split like wood and require less long-term maintenance than wood veneer doors.
