Focus Doors and Windows Names New President
The board of directors of Focus Doors and Windows of Longueuil, Quebec, has announced the appointment of Robert Doyon to the position of president and chief executive officer.
Doyon has more than 20 years in general management, mergers and acquisitions, operations, business development and sales and marketing. He has worked as president and chief executive officer and in other senior positions for companies including Diversey Corp., Americ Disc and Cari-All Products Inc., as well as in the medical and retail sectors. Doyon has also managed operating companies across the world.
Empire Co. Announces New Appointments
The Empire Co. Inc. of Zeeland, Mich., a value-added distribution and marketing company, has announced several organizational changes.
Thomas B. Highley, formerly vice president of sales and marketing/pro dealer division, will assume the duties of the office of president. Thomas H. Highly will retain the title and responsibilities of chief executive officer and will focus on the merger and acquisition growth initiatives of the company.
Dennis Berry, formerly vice president of sales and marketing, national home centers, has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing for all markets.
Chap Kester, formerly Eastern Regional manager, will assume the newly-created role of director of sales, pro dealer division.
In addition, the company announced that it was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2004 Award from professional services firm Ernst & Young LLP. Thomas H. Highley won for the category of business and consumer services.
Since 1993, Highley has led Empire’s growth from a regional to a multi-regional company. The company has approximately 325 employees and four distribution centers with approximately 633,000 square feet of warehouse space, with plans to expand nationwide.
Huttig Promotes Carl Liliequist to Executive Vice President
Huttig Building Products Inc., of Chesterfield, Mo., has promoted Carl A. Liliequist to executive vice president, responsible for all of the company’s sales and operations.
The company also announced that Grant W. Bruce, the former chief financial officer of RMC Industries Corp. who has decided to retire, has resigned from the company’s board of directors, effective May 7, 2004. The company has not yet chosen a successor.
