HVP Names Stewart Director of Sales and Marketing
Dean Stewart has joined Heritage Veneered Products (HVP), a division of Owens Forest Products and a manufacturer of Woodport® interior doors based in Shawano, Wis., as its director of sales and marketing. Stewart will develop and implement programs focused on market research, product development and branding. With his team, Stewart will work with existing distributors to find new opportunities for growth, as well as review and potentially expand the product line.

In the future, Stewart will also work closely with Owens Flooring Co., HVP’s sister division, to analyze opportunities for cross-selling and joint distribution of doors and flooring.

Previously, Stewart served Ver Halen Inc. as general manager of sales and marketing within the Pella Window division. He was also the national sales and marketing manager for Appleton Supply, a division of Gibraltar Industries focused on building products. 

MVMA Names Mike Fisher Director of Codes and Standards
The Masonry Veneer Manufacturers Association (MVMA) has appointed Mike Fischer as director of codes and standards. Fischer will carry out code advocacy activities for the association and will be the key technical professional, focusing on assisting the codes and standards committee, task forces, technical research programs and codes related issues. In this position he will also track national codes and standards organizations.

Most recently, he served as director of code and regulatory compliance for the Window and Door Manufacturers Association, where he worked closely with state and federal government agencies to develop key code and regulatory positions. He has also held sales and marketing positions at Owens Corning Fiberglas, Overhead Door Corp. and Clopay Building Products. 

WDMA Elects Board and Officers
At its 79th annual meeting in Indian Wells, Calif., the Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) elected Jim Hackett as its 2006 chairperson. Hackett is the vice president of marketing for JELD-WEN Inc. of Klamath Falls, Ore.

Dave Beeken, president of Eagle Window and Door of Dubuque, Iowa, was re-elected as vice chairperson of the window division. Rick Kon, director of engineering at Masonite International of Charlotte, N.C., was elected as vice chairperson of the door division. Linda Semling, vice president and general manager of Semling-Menke Co. of Merrill, Wis., was re-elected as treasurer.

New directors elected to the board are Mike Salsieder, president of Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork of Wausau, Wis., Ron Safford, president of Parrett Manufacturing of Dorchester, Wis., Hal Gardner, vice president of marketing for Therma-Tru Doors of Maumee, Ohio, Jeff Klein, president of Great Lakes Window of Walbridge, Ohio, Steve Tourek, senior vice president of Marvin Windows and Doors of Warroad, Minn., and Rob Jablonski, vice president of engineering and quality of Pella Corp. of Pella, Iowa.

Crown Heritage Promotes Three Sales Team Members
Crown Heritage® of North Wilkesboro, N.C., has promoted Jim Trice to national sales manager, Andy Chatman to southeast regional sales manager and Jody Treadway to customer service manager.

Trice began as a territory manager with ECMD Inc. in 1990, and later assumed the role of sales manager for Crown Heritage, one of the ECMD companies, in 2003. As Crown Heritage’s national sales manager, he will manage the independent sales representatives across the United States, as well as the regional sales managers and the company’s customer service.

Chatman also worked for ECMD Inc. as a customer service representative. He joined ECMD in 1995, and moved to customer service for Crown Heritage in January 1999. During that same year, Chatman was given the added responsibility of procurement specialist to purchase and maintain both imported and domes-tically produced stair components. In 2003, he was named customer service manager for Crown Heritage.

Treadway has been with Crown Heritage since June 2004. He has been a customer service representative for nearly two years.
