Albuquerque to Host NAHB’S 2006 National Green Building Conference
Those interested in learning to meet increased consumer demand for resource-efficient, environmentally-sensitive and affordable new homes can attend the 2006 National Green Building Conference, according to a news release from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Hosted by the NAHB, the conference will be held March 12-14, 2006, in Albuquerque, N.M., at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
“Builders in Albuquerque have already made significant progress in developing an impressive number of green-built homes,” said Ray Tonjes, chairperson of NAHB’s green building subcommittee and a homebuilder from Austin, Texas. “We are thrilled to highlight the work of local green builders, as well as homes built in accordance with NAHB’s voluntary Model Green Home Building Guidelines, as more and more of our members start to build green.”
With a theme of “Greening the American Dream,” the conference will provide a forum for attendees to network with like-minded colleagues and attend high-caliber educational sessions on green building topics. Sessions will address building science, design, marketing and other subjects for both green building specialists and mainstream homebuilders, many of whom are already incorporating green building methods and materials into their construction practices. Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to tour numerous green homebuilding projects throughout the Albuquerque area.
More information on the National Green Building Conference is available at www.nahb.org/greenbuilding.
