Triad Announces Representation for Gulf Coast Region
Triad has announced that Tom Hamm and Ron Barlow of Sunbelt Marketing, based out of Sherwood, Ark., and Abita Springs, La., respectfully, have signed on to represent the Triad line of wall panel equipment for both wood and light-gauge steel framing, as well as Triad stair manufacturing equipment for Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Western Tennessee.
Craig Damos Named President and CEO
Chairperson Glenn De Stigter of The Weitz Co. of Des Moines, Iowa, has announced that senior vice president Craig Damos has been named president and chief executive officer.
According to De Stigter, who has been with the company since 1968 and has served as president and chief executive officer (CEO) since 1992 and chairperson since 2002, a structure for a board-driven leadership succession process was put in place in 2004. De Stigter will remain chairperson of the board.
Damos joined The Weitz Co. in 2000 as strategic chief financial officer. His accounting and financial consulting experience includes 20 years with McGladrey & Pullen, serving on the board of directors and as partner-in-charge of the firm’s Des Moines and Mason City, Iowa, locations.
Steve Chen to Head Crystal Windows Operations
Crystal Window & Door Systems of Flushing, N.Y., recently named Steve Chen, son of company founder Thomas Chen, as executive vice president over company operations. The title represents a significant promotion for Chen, and the transition from the company’s founder to the next family generation.
As executive vice president, Chen will direct the integration of sales and marketing strategy with production and customer service for the parent company and its domestic fenestration subsidiaries. Thomas Chen will focus on business development opportunities overseas, direct Crystal’s international subsidiaries and explore a wide range of innovative building products.
To assist specifically with its transition, the company engaged David Ewing, a seasoned manufacturing industry executive with experience in the building products industry at the chief executive officer level. Ewing was previously with Four Seasons Sunrooms, Rockwell International and other industry leaders.
Upon graduation of Penn State University, Steve Chen joined First Union Asset Management as leader of a team of investment account managers. There he was responsible for portfolio accounting, working with pension and investment plan brokers and their customers, and honing his skills in client relations.
ABC Window Co. Names New Manager
Ontario, Calif.-based ABC Window Co. has appointed Michael Balderrama as customer service and installation manager.
Balderrama will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the customer service department, and will oversee and manage its staff of product installers and service repair personnel. He will also analyze and evaluate the department’s staffing needs, ensuring the company has sufficient resources to meet project requirements.
Balderrama is certified by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) as an InstallationMaster™. In his previous position, he served as customer service and purchasing manager for ATI Windows, a provider of windows and doors to professional builders and home remodeling contractors.
Great Lakes Window® Welcomes New President
Great Lakes Window of Toledo, Ohio, has appointed Jeff Klein to president. Klein’s presidency brings 15 years of experience in building strong operations, multi-channel sales forces and technical teams.
Klein previously served as president of the Western Window Market for Ply Gem Industries and climbed the ranks at Milgard Windows as general manager, regional manager, vice president of organizational development and then senior vice president. He also acted as an industry advisor for several private equity companies before accepting his position with Ply Gem Industries.
James “Les” Kimley joins ADCO Products Inc.
ADCO Products Inc. of Michigan Center, Mich., has added James “Les” Kimley as the Southeast region account manager for its assembly, construction and distribution sales group.
Kimley has many years of adhesive and sealant sales experience and holds a degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Key Communications Inc. Promotes Two
Key Communications Inc., publisher of SHELTER magazine and its sister publication, Door and Window Manufacturer (DWM) magazine, among others, has named two new vice presidents of the company.
Holly Biller has been named vice president of information services. In her new position, Biller will be responsible for continued development of Key’s web presence, including the SHELTER e-mail newsletter, along with marketing and other customer services.
Tara Taffera has been named vice president of editorial services. She will oversee the development of new editorial services and the expansion of current ones. She will also continue to serve in her role as publisher of DWM.
Biller has been with Key Communications for more than ten years.
She has served in positions of increasing responsibility and has been instrumental in the development of Key’s online services among others.
Taffera has been an employee for eight years. She has served as editor of Window Film magazine, AGRR magazine and USGlass. She has led the development and record growth of Key’s DWM magazine.
