Two More with “Girl Power”

Dear SHELTER,

Too bad your article “Girl Power” (found in the March 2006 issue of SHELTER on page 36) was not printed back in the 1960s or 1970s when our company had not just one, but two, women sale managers and [at a time] when there were even fewer women in our business.

I am referring to two women—one, Mary Caplis, who became sales manager for Setzer Forest Products in the early 1960s until her retirement in the late 1970s, and, two, Mitzie Finch, who was sales manager for McKuen Moulding at the time we purchased it in 1970 until her retirement in the early 1980s. Both women worked their way through the ranks and were very well respected by those who knew and worked with them, as I know women you wrote about are well respected. Good article.

Sincerely,

Mark Setzer
