Elections and Appointments
Pro-Build Appoints Ryan CFO
Building materials supplier Pro-Build Holdings Inc. announced the appointment of Thomas W. Ryan as chief financial officer (CFO).

Ryan previously served as vice chairman for Allied Waste Industries, where he also served as executive vice president and CFO. Prior to Allied, he was executive vice president and CFO for Federal Mogul Corp.  

Changes to Ace’s Board
Ace Hardware Corp. elected two new members and re-elected three to the board of directors during its annual shareholders meeting held June 5, 2007, at the company’s headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill. Retailers Craig Ward and Sameer Al-Hamidi were elected to their first terms, while Bill Bolton, John Patricia and David Ziegler were re-elected.

Ward was elected to his first three-year term, representing retailers as a director-at-large. He owns Ace Town and Country Hardware, a seven-store chain in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Al-Hamidi is the only international retailer serving on the board of directors and was elected for a two-year term to represent retailers as a director-at-large. Al-Hamidi is general manager of Saudi Company for Hardware, a 15-store chain in Saudi Arabia.

Bolton was elected to his second three-year term, representing retailers as a non-member director and chairman of the finance committee. He currently serves as a consultant advisor to Leo J. Shapiro & Associates and a board member for Bemis Co. Inc.

Patricia was elected to his second three-year term, representing retailers as a director-at-large and owns Ace Hardware and Nursery in Payson, Ariz.

Ziegler was elected to his third three-year term, also representing retailers as a director-at-large and chairman of the compensation and human resources committee.

Several Promotions and New Hires at ViWinTech

Vinyl Window Technologies (ViWinTech) in Paducah, Ky., has hired or promoted four employees: Robyn Taylor will now serve as field service manager; Charissa Harris will serve as co-manager with Susan Dalrymple in customer service; Rick Uhls was hired as glass department supervisor; and Eldon Reel was hired for the position of quality-assurance manager.

Taylor began her work as the field-service manager in October 2006, but she has been familiar with the company and its employees since 2000 through her work at the temporary staffing company Hamilton-Ryker.

Harris joined ViWinTech in September of 2006 as co-manager in customer service. She is working with Dalrymple, who was promoted in August of 2006. Both managers will work closely with each customer-service representative and validator. Harris brings 17 years of experience in customer service to the company.

Uhls joined as the company’s glass department supervisor and is now managing all aspects of the department from quality to production. He has more than 20 years of industry experience including 15 in positions where he was responsible for glass department production.

Reel, who has assumed the position of quality-assurance manager, comes from another nationally recognized window manufacturer. He has 12 years of experience in fenestration within manufacturing, product and process development, and eight years in quality management.
