Come Together
Remodeling Show Previews Products,
Offers Educational Sessions and More

Bringing together the whole remodeling community is what the Remodeling Show strives to do, attracting more than 10,000 remodelers, replacement contractors, home-improvement professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, custom builders and residential architects from around the country, according to show organizers. If you are part of this group, the upcoming Remodeling Show, October 9-12, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas is one not to miss.

Three Components
First-time attendees will find three major components to the show: the show floor, where they can preview products and tools; the show conference, where they can pick from more than 80 sessions and earn AIA, NKBA, AIBD and ASID industry designations; and several opportunities to network with one another.

Expand Your Knowledge
This year’s show not only previews new remodeling products, but also will have more than 80 educational sessions from which to choose. Here are some sessions that the Shelter staff thinks may be worth attending for distributors, dealers and their customers.

Tuesday, October 9
10 a.m. - Noon
In the session, “AARP, NAHB and AOTA Partnership for Successful Aging-in-Place Remodeling,” you will learn how the three organizations are creating consumer demand for remodelers who understand aging-in-place concepts.

1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
“Mold Issues” will help you discover the impact mold has on human health, plus explain how to use proper techniques of investigation, sampling and remediation.

1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
You will learn how to provide better customer service in “Keeping the Customer Satisfied.” You also will learn how to handle client issues with confidence, even the most upset and enraged variety.

3 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Techniques and processes that will give you more profit via things you can control will be discussed in “Lessons Learned in a Slowdown.” You will also learn techniques to prepare for the eventual downturn, if it hasn’t arrived at your door yet.

Wednesday, October 10
8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
In “Selling Value, Not Price,” you will identify real value components, such as those your customers are seeking, not just what you think they need. You also will learn how to develop a presentation strategy that leads to “yes, that makes sense,” instead of “that sounds okay, but what else can you do?”

Thursday, October 12
8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
“Common Sense in Green Remodeling,” will incorporate easy-to-use, readily available systems to reduce energy consumption. You also will have the opportunity to review products on the market that support resource conservation.

10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Studies show that women have a growing purchasing influence. In, “Marketing and Selling to Women,” learn to understand the values, priorities, likes and dislikes that influence a woman’s purchasing decisions.

Once you arrive, you can pick up your badge holder and lanyard at one of the badge holder pick-up locations.

Those who register after September 27, will need to pick up badge materials in registration at the pre-registration counter. If you do not pre-register, you can register on-site. Registration will be located immediately inside the main entrance doors to the show floor.
