New Methods, New Views and New Spacers

Attention on Deck

A New Method
To provide contractor customers with an alternative method for joining posts and support rails, TimberTech FenceScape has introduced rail brackets designed for its low-maintenance composite fencing product. The brackets eliminate the need to pre-drill, saving time. Since a fence is one of the most visible extensions of the home, FenceScape’s new rail brackets are powder-coated and color matched to the Mountain Cedar product line to deliver clean and consistent lines and improve the overall aesthetics of the fence. The rail brackets can be used in solid privacy, spaced picket, shadowbox or many other custom applications.  www.timbertech.com

Room with a View
Sunroom manufacturer—Patio Enclosures Inc. announces the addition of Windsor Conservatories to its latest offering of conservatory sunrooms featuring authentic English designs and craftsmanship.

ComfortGard® C3 low-E glass is standard and keeps occupants comfortable despite outdoor weather extremes. Casement windows have friction hinges that hold their open positions and have no mechanical parts to wear out. Fully sculptured double French doors with a six-point safety locking system for maximum security open to permit large furniture and objects to be moved in or out.

These rooms are low-maintenance and built with thermally efficient, vinyl frames over galvanized steel and aluminum. Retractable conservatory screens are lowered when windows are open to keep bugs out and can be retracted when windows are closed.  www.patioenc.com

Strong’s Spacers
Simpson Strong-Tie’s new Deck Spacers™ are small plastic spacers that clip onto the joist to keep deck boards evenly spaced. They also help lengthen the life-span of the deck, protect the deck framing and reduce maintenance. In addition to composite decking, the spacers work well with redwood, cedar and other woods, and are color-coordinated to match popular deck colors. The company says its patented design helps shed debris and moisture away from the deck joists, keeping them clean and reducing the chances of rot. www.strongtie.com

A Third Generation Product
Fiber Composites LLC, a manufacturer of composite decking, offers a new standard in cellular PVC decking. The company says that, unlike first- and second-generation cellular PVC decking, Fiberon Sanctuary delivers excellent color retention and durability, even in darker colors. The finish is a synthetic compound that has long been used in the automotive industry to withstand weathering and to enhance color retention on the exterior finish of cars and trucks. The tough finish provides resistance to mold, mildew and stains. Fiber Composites backs its new cellular PVC product with a 20-year limited warranty.

“No other cellular PVC decking product delivers better color retention or resistance to stains. The color [your customers] chose today will be essentially the same color many years from now,” says Bill Ross, vice president of sales for Fiber Composites LLC. www.fiberondecking.com
