ProBuild Names Dodge Senior VP of Supply Chain
ProBuild Holdings Inc. recently appointed Paul J. Dodge to the newly-created position of senior vice president of supply chain. Dodge will report to Bill Myrick, president of strategic initiatives for the Denver-based building materials supplier.

“[Supply chain operations] are a key area of strategic focus for us moving forward,” Myrick says. “Paul’s leadership, experience and national builder perspective will help us to accomplish the goals we have set in this area of our business.”

Dodge previously worked for nine years at Centex Homes most recently as the company’s senior vice president of purchasing and supply management. Before joining Centex, he worked in the wholesale and retail sectors, as division vice president of merchandising at Builder’s Square, director of national accounts for Weyerhaeuser Building Materials and president of Builder Marts of America.

Dodge has a bachelor’s degree in forestry utilization from the University of Maine and a master’s degree in business administration from Clemson University. He also graduated from the executive program of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dodge and his wife, Katherine, will relocate to the Denver area.

Stiles Hires Davis to Support Solid Wood Technologies
Stiles Machinery Inc. in Grand Rapids, Mich., has added Tim Davis to its Solid Wood Technologies team.

Davis will serve as a technical product manager for the South Central and Western regions. He will provide sales and technical assistance to the sales channels for all Solid Wood Technologies products. He has 27 years of experience in the moulder and profile grinder industry and will be based in the Denver area. 

Sunrise Welcomes Loomis and O’Leary
Sunrise Windows, a vinyl window and sliding door manufacturer based in Temperance, Mich., has announced the promotions of Don Loomis and Jeff O’Leary to Western regional manager and Eastern regional manager, respectively. The former Sunrise Windows territory managers assumed their new roles as of January 1, 2008.Loomis has represented the company since 1998 in the upper Midwest and has more than 20 years of retail, distribution and manufacturing sales experience. He began selling the Sunrise product line since its inception—first through a distributor and then as one of its first territory managers.

O’Leary joined Sunrise in 2004, managing a territory that includes New York City, New Jersey, Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas. 

ABC Supply CEO Ken Hendricks Dies
Ken Hendricks
, founder, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of ABC Supply in Midland, Texas, recently died from a head injury after falling at his home in Beloit, Wis. One employee, outside salesperson Vicki Lowry, had nothing but accolades to share about her former CEO.

“Ken Hendricks had a way of putting you at ease and making you feel you were just part of the gang,” Lowry says.

She says that Hendricks was a real model for the building supply market through his imagination and compelling drive.

“From repairing old worn-out warehouses and turning them into great places of businesses, Ken built a business empire in the roofing and siding industry to make all his employees feel proud that he had a dream and accomplished so much in such a short time,” Lowry says.

Lowry says she will miss him greatly.

“I am thankful I had the chance to know Ken Hendricks,” she says.
