Software Solutions

An Efficient Tool
W3Net provides software solutions that make purchasing, sales and distribution processes more efficient and cost effective. The software helps in automating order replenishment for program sales and consignment distribution and complies with data synchronization mandates by retail customers. The Yelm, Wash.-based software manufacturer says, you don't have to buy anything, just pay as you go.

Make Fuel out of Wood
Laidig Industrial Systems offers a solution to silo/bin hang-up problems. The Model 4300 Series has a cone-bottom unloader, which has a sweep auger rotating 360 around the bin. This helps create mass flow and enhances first-in-first-out (FIFO) flow. The series handles a variety of wood residue including wood chips, saw dust and shavings for both process and for fuel.

In addition to the complete line of cone-bottom models, the Mishawaka, Ind.-based company offers an entire family of heavy-duty flat-bottom unloaders and can be installed into a new or existing silo/bin.

Quality Mouldings-Affordable Price
Finding a millwork provider that offers true quality and competitive pricing can be tough. Mt. Taylor Millwork Inc. is a family owned and operated, lineal wood moulding plant that was established in 1965 and located in Milan, N.M. The company says it manufactures quality mouldings in pine, red oak and poplar, as well as exotics from overseas-all at competitive prices. Special species requirements can be filled, and the company says unitized shipments arrive by truck or rail, on time, accurately tallied, and neatly bundled.

Bathroom and Kitchen Friendly
Nashville, Tenn.-based Louisiana-Pacific Corp.'s LP Moulding product line doesn't require sanding, priming or sealing and is suitable for damp areas such as bathrooms, laundry rooms or kitchens.

It is pre-finished from white to multiple woodgrains to match any style of home and comes ready to install. In addition, LP offers eight colors and more than a dozen profiles.

Asked for by Name
Founded in 1926, Moulding & Millwork is an industry leader in the manufacture and distribution of high-quality wood mouldings in North America. The MDF Moulding Group consists of three quality-driven manufacturing facilities located in Boston, Ontario, Calgary, Alberta and Monroe, Wash.

The company says the trademark brand, Platinum Prime, is quickly becoming an industry standard for quality and is asked for by name. In addition, the company uses some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment and processes available, including full in-house CAD capabilities. Company officials say their strong customer focus maintains integrity in a competitive and dynamic market.

Moulding Designs

Need a Drawing and Fast?
Mirror Reflections is a moulding design specialty company in Kaysville, Utah. It sells DXF files, templates and knives for most moulders including Weinig, LeaderMac, Kentwood, SCMI, SK-USA, Wadkin, Silver and more. All drawings are designed on a CAD system by a service engineer/moulder operator with 25 years of experience in the trade.

The company has more than 13,000 drawings in its database, and 10,584 of these images are available online in its 100 percent to-scale profile catalog. Most orders for drawings, templates and knives from this catalog have less than a 24-hour turnaround time to shipping.

Environment-Friendly Coatings
Tewksbury Technical Coatings Inc. (TTC) has created a company focused on meeting the needs of the moulding and millwork industry. As a member of the WMMPA, TTC offers products to meet WMMPA Industry Standard for interior primer coatings for moulding and millwork (WM10-2003) and WMMPA Industry Standard for exterior primer coatings for moulding and millwork (WM11-2003).

This plant is equipped to manufacture truckload quantities with batch sizes to 4000 gallons and offers California-compliant coatings. TTC supplies solvent- and water-based primers, topcoats, stains and sealers.

Care and Color for Composite
The Valspar Corp. in New York added a new Composite Deck Care System to the Cabot brand of its Architectural Coatings division. Designed to restore, protect and add beauty to composite decks, this new system includes three components: composite cleaner, a maximum strength, powdered concentrate that removes mildew and dirt; composite decking stain, a mixture of oil and water hybrid chemistry; and solid color composite decking stain, fortified with urethane to coat the deck with a durable and rigid film and designed to resist ultra-violet rays.

Consumers can also change the color of a composite deck with Cabot's semi-solid stain, which is available in 97 colors, while solid color stain is available in an unlimited color palette.

Exterior Products

Select Trimboard Line Stands Up to Weather
Gossen Corp. of Milwaukee has introduced a new, versatile line of stock board for exterior use, especially where weather resistance is important.

The Gossen Select PVC Trimboard can be used for fascia, soffit, rake, frieze, window and door trim - anywhere a non-structural wood product would be used.

The product holds up against extreme weather conditions, and exceeds the 308-04 cellular PVC standard of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association.

Smooth-edge technology is used on all four sides of the trimboard, with one side of the board having a totally smooth surface and the opposite side having a smoothened wood-texture appearance. The four finished sides provide smooth exposed edges with no absorption. The product was developed to maximize contact with masonry or galvanized metal.
