Omnia Makes New Protective Finish Available

Cedar Grove, NJ-based Omnia Industries has announced the availability of its new protective finish, Max•Brass™, which the company guarantees will protect its solid brass mortise handle sets from tarnishing, pitting and flaking for a lifetime. The new trim can be applied to both the exterior and interior trim of Omnia’s mortise handle sets and the company says the finish provides the hardware with total protection and makes it impervious to the effects of exposure to the elements. Max•Brass™ is a product of the vacuum deposition process, which produces a dense, smooth surface that assures a permanent brass sheen despite the ravages of weather and the passing of time. The finish may be specified on Omnia’s Tudor, Regal, Estate and Chateau series of solid brass mortise handle sets.

First Wood Door Passes 90-Minute Approval Rating

Bronx, NY-based Zero International says its double egress wood fire door, which uses components from Georgia Pacific Building Products of Atlanta, GA, and Zero’s Intument fire and smoke seals, was the first to pass a 90-minute test by Intertek Testing Services (Warnock Hersey). The company says the door is ideal for commercial applications including hospitals, office buildings, hotels, hotels and other areas where public safety is a concern.

Corbin-Russwin Introduces Spring Stop Closer Arm

Corbin Russwin, of Charlotte, NC, has added a new dead stop arm with a built-in shock absorber to the heavy-duty DC2000 series closers. This arm, which is designed for use in high-traffic and potentially abusive installations, can add years to the life of exterior doors, according to the manufacturer.

Stanley Offers Half-View Decorative Glass

Stanley Door Systems of Troy, MI, has introduced a half-view decorative glass door that it says will provide a balance of translucency and privacy, decorative style and security. The Stanley Sta-Tru® Premium steel entry door features a half-view hand-crafted decorative glass design of brass caning with clear bevels and gray and clear baroque. The sidelites also have brass caning with gray and clear baroque and clear beveled glass.

Uvekol® Glass Laminating System From UCB Chemicals

The Radcure Business Unit of UCB Chemicals Corp. in Smyrna, GA, offers the Uvekol single-component UV-cured resin for laminated glass. According to the company, Uvekol is designed to simplify laminating, eliminate mixing and clean-up and to reduce the capital investment for production costs. It says the complete curing process takes only 20 minutes and is relatively independent of the ambient temperature. Versions for acoustic glass (Uvekol A) and safety glass (Uvekol S-20) are available.

B&L Glass Offers Broad Capabilities

B&L Glass Company of Indianapolis, IN, offers a variety of glass products for many applications. The company produces table tops with custom-cut glass tops, custom and beveled mirrors, replacement glass for storm windows and doors, storefront systems for new and remodeling projects. In addition, it is capable of supplying plate, laminated and safety glass products.

Access Hardware Stocks New Products

Access Hardware Supply of San Leandro, CA, is now stocking Locknetics CM5100, CM5400, CM5500 and Locknetics 6000 series "Smart Exit." The Locknetics CM5000 series runs on four AA batteries and can be programmed with up to 150 users at the lock or from a PC. The 6000 series is a latching, microprocessor-controlled rim exit device that provides 15- or 30-second delayed egress and alarm when activated and allows for release and reset with the "touch entry" reader.

Dawson Doors Adds Laser Technology

Jamestown, NY-based Dawson Doors has added the MAZAK Laser to its manufacturing facility. According to the company, the laser is capable of cutting steel, aluminum, brass and plastic to the thousandth-inch, loading material automatically and running non-stop.

Access Hardware Carries Securitron’s "Unalatch"

Access Hardware Supply of San Leandro, CA, is stocking the "Unalatch" from Securitron. The Unalatch is a 12/24 vdc electromechanical cylindrical style latch release that operates with up to 30 pounds of door pre-load. According to the company, the device will also fit a standard ANSI 4-7/8 cutout and requires no routing or chiseling of the door frame.

Automated System for Windshield Handling From Peak Industries

Peak Industries, Inc. of Dearborn, MI, offers an automated conveyor and storage system to handle the windshields of Ford vehicles. According to the company, the system replaces totally manual installation and is used to move the windshields from a lehr bending oven to a washer. The system features numerous belt and roller conveyors, storage racks, transfer carts, track-type shuttles, a glass separating section, a turnover device and two Fanuc S420 robots.
