The glass industry remained steady last month with only the Northeast and Midwest showing measurable growth. The West Coast, Rocky Mountain and Southeast regions experienced two-to three-percent growth, while the Lower Plains and Mid-Atlantic did about the same business they did the month before.

As the dog days of summer approach the industry expects to keep a solid pace. The Mid-Atlantic, Lower Plains and Midwest all anticipate growing at a ten-percent clip. The Southeast, Rocky Mountain regions expect growth in the four- to five-percent range, while the Northeast and West Coast lag behind, expecting two- to three-percent growth.
