First Systech International, Inc. of Phoenix, AZ, has added Joel Patterson to its sales and support staff. Patterson, who has more than 25 years of experience in the door and millwork industries, will be the installation and implementation manager for existing and new customers.
Southwall Technologies Inc. of Palo, Alto, CA, has appointed Thomas G. Hood to the position of president and CEO following the resignation of Martin Schwartz. Hood, who has been with the company since 1981, will serve as president and CEO on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is chosen.
In addition, the company has appointed Bill R. Finley as its vice president finance and chief financial officer, replacing L. Ray Christie. Finley has held the position of chief executive officer for several technology companies and has served as controller for Southwall on two occasions.
Speedy Auto and Window Glass of Anchorage, AK, has added Angelia Blomberg to its sales staff. Blomberg, who formerly owned Frontier Glass of Anchorage and Juneau, will be responsible for the development of contract, fleet and commercial accounts. The company has also promoted Steven Purvis, who formerly worked at the company's Fireweed and Huffman locations, to branch manager of its Juneau branch.

Troy, MI-based Cadillac Plastic has appointed Mark McCord to the position of director of value-added business. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for both the fabrication and PFC film conversion operations. Previously he served as general manager of Cadillac's eastern unit.

These appointments were made to fill new management positions in the company that were created in anticipation of future growth.
