EFCO Corporation of Monett, MO, has updated its Architectural Reference Manual on CD-ROM to include CAD details in .dxf and .dwg formats for inserting into CAD software. The CD manual includes detailed overviews, specifications and detail drawings.

SAE Presents Materials Database

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) has introduced the SAE Automotive Materials Database on the web and on CD-ROM. The internet version, which features 52 weeks of unlimited use, is updated monthly, while the CD-ROM version is updated yearly. The site can be accessed on the web at www.sae.org/mat.

The organization is also offering the 1998 edition of the Highway Vehicles Safety Database, available on CD-ROM or the world wide web. The database contains safety research on topics such as collision, warning systems, airbag research and injury assessment.

 

Construction Market, Thomas Publishing Sign Agreement

Construction Market Data Group has signed an agreement with Thomas Publishing Company to expand its CD-ROM library containing CAD drawings and formatted data. The library will be distributed at no charge.

 

New NFRC Website Up

The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) has announced that its website, located at www.nfrc.org, has been revised to make it more helpful for consumers, builders and others looking for information about the performance of windows, doors and skylights. The new site allows visitors to download copies of NFRC publications and offers hints about using and understanding NFRC’s energy performance label.

ASTM Develops Forum for On-line Standards Development

The American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) of West Conshohocken, PA, has developed a new Interactive Standards Development Forum, which is available for use by all ASTM technical committees. According to the organization, its system allows members to participate in the on-line development of ASTM standards by using the Forum’s interactive editing screens. The Forum can be accessed at www.astm.org.

Technical Glass Products (TGP) of Kirkland, WA, has launched a website at www.fireglass.com, that features an array of fire-rated glazing materials. Software and CD Program From YKK America

YKK AP America of Atlanta, GA, offers YES-1™ Estimating Software and an updated version of its YKK Architectural Product Master™ CD program. The company says that the estimating software allows the estimator to draw an aluminum frame and specify the finish and the program will prepare a project estimate.

According to the company, the CD program is an electronic design manual that enables architects and glazing contractors to copy product specifications and details of each of YKK AP’s architectural aluminum systems to their drawings.
