Tools for Mending

Products Available in the Auto Glass Industry

With so many choices available to the auto glass industry, USGlass has spotlighted a sampling of tools and kits to help you navigate through the maze.

A.N. Designs Introduces UltraWiz® Ultra Thin Blade

A.N. Designs Inc., of Torrington, CT, has introduced its UltraWiz Ultra Thin Blade. The blade is designed to cut like a technician ground blade, without the increased fear of breaking. The blade averages 40 percent thinner than the original UltraWiz. Each blade has the new, dual-angle cutting edge. This gives unequaled control during cutting when compared to the single chisel cut edge which causes natural lifting to the glass during cutting, according to the company. The blade is available in 3/4-, 1- and 1 ˝ -inch cut lengths.

The Universal Bracket from Executive Mirror Door

The Universal Bracket from Executive Mirror Door Inc. of Central Islip, NY, is an aluminum replacement door glass bracket that bonds to the bottom of a door glass. It attaches the glass to the window regulator. The company says it can be used on both domestic and foreign door glass applications.

The bracket looks different from the original plastic brackets used on Hondas, Nissans, Toyotas, etc. Instead of putting a bolt into the nut, located in the bracket, the nut can be put on the stud instead.

Rust Kit from Delta 9 Products

Delta 9 Products of Long Beach, CA, offers a rust repair kit to provide rust repair for glass shops. According to the company, the kit is packaged in bottles that allow the user to count the amount of epoxy primer that is used. The company says the two-to-one mixture is lead-free and includes a quick cure catalyst. The kit also includes an OEM-approved cleaner, glass sanding pen and 200 wooden shafted cotton swabs for applying the primer.

Edgeguard Offers Custom Patterns for Windshields

Edgeguard of Grand Junction, CO, now offers custom patterns for most windshields on the market. The company says the patterns, which can be ordered with the windshield’s NAGS™ part number, reduces installation time and are available on a 16-inch by 4- to 5-feet sheet of Edgeguard.

Complete Repair System from Windshield Repair Warehouse

Wind-shield Repair Warehouse of Telluride, CO, has redesigned its machine-based Vision Pro XL to be modular. According to the company, the power pack vacuum/pressure pump and system control panel can be removed from the kit carrying case. The company says this feature provides the technician with improved portability and the ability to easily access large trucks, buses and other difficult to reach repair areas.
