
Hollandia Introduces New Sunroofs
Hollandia Sunroofs of Brighton, MI, is distributing the Hollandia Sapphire,
Hollandia TVS, Hollandia Emerald, Hollandia Onyx and Hollandia Crystal sunroofs. The
Hollandia Sapphire has a fabric covering that opens electrically, while the Hollandia TVS,
Emerald and Onyx have electric control with anti-jamming protection. The Hollandia Crystal
is a pop-up sunroof with a removable glass panel.
Mopar Offers Installation Guide
The Mopar Parts Division of Daimler Chrysler Corporation of Farmington Hills, MI,
is offering a 212-page installation guide for its full line of Safeguard automotive glass
products. According to the company, the installation guide provides step-by-step removal
and installation instructions for all 1998 Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Jeep and Eagle
vehicles. The guide includes diagrams and illustrations.
M.D. Carlson Sales Develop AutoSet
M.D. Carlson Sales Inc. of Minnetonka, MN, has developed the AutoSet, a mobile
installation arm that it says will allow all windshields to be installed easily by one
person. The device is made of lightweight aluminum, has parts that are powder-coated, fits
new Ford and Chevrolet vans and will last two or three truck lives, according to the
company.
Atlas Introduces Pit Rouge
Atlas Windshield of Birmingham, AL, has introduced Pit Rogue, a polish designed
to put a crystal-clear luster on a finished windshield repair. The company says its
formula can be applied by hand and buffed with a soft cloth after the pit filler has been
cured and scraped. In addition, the Pit Rouge is thicker than most finishing polishes,
which allows for easier polishing of vertical applicators, according to the company.
High Modulus, Nonconductive Urethane from Essex
Essex ARG of Dayton, OH, produces a modulus, nonconductive urethane adhesive for
windshields and backlites with encapsulated antennas. According to the company, this
adhesive will not interfere with electrical systems like many conductive systems do. The
adhesive is also high-modulus, which the company says provides extra strength to resist
torsional twisting and enable the windshield to stiffen the support of the vehicle body to
improve handling and overall driving ability.
3M Introduces Nonconductive Windshield Adhesive
The 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division of St. Paul, MN, has introduced a rapid
two-part, nonconductive windshield adhesive. According to the company, the product is a
fast-curing, high strength adhesive designed for the reinstallation of vehicle
windshields, back lites and side lites. It also features a chemical cure system that is
not dependent on humidity, OEM strength performance and rapid strength build-up. The
company also says its adhesive requires no expensive application equipment, uses a
standard 18/1 ratio flex pack applicator and is easily mixed.
New Products From Poly/Lite
Poly/Lite Windshield Repair Supplies of York, PA, has introduced the aluminum
piston/cyclinder injector and the cat bridge for windshield repair technicians. The
aluminum/cylinder injector is anodized for lifetime use. The company says the product
utilizes increased pressure vacuum and the same inserts as a plastic injector.
The cat bridge is designed to move forward and backward, as well as swivel for ease of
positioning on any break.
