ThermaCell to Acquire All Rights to Glass Paint

Silab Research Center Inc. of Daytona, FL, a research and development lab, has collaborated with ThermaCell Technologies Inc. of Sarastoa, FL, to develop what it says is environmentally-friendly glass paint. ThermaCell recently announced it signed a letter of intent to acquire Silab. The acquisition will give ThermaCell 100 percent control of the glass paint as well as complete rights to eight other technologies. The company says it would also gain a highly skilled R&D team, with a focus on silicate or glass technology, which would help the company patent and expand into full-scale production of all new technologies.
The paint uses inorganic glass to replace organic resins and meets restrictive regulations regarding the elimination of environmentally harmful paint ingredients. The glass paint is resistant to weathering, ultraviolet rays, acid rain, fading, solvents, water and mildew, according to the company. It does not chalk, has no odor and is available clear or pigmented.
