Registers rang … were you listnin’?
Owners sang … sales were blisterin’,
T’was a beautiful sight, slept well at night,
Workin’ in the Windshield Wonderland.
But down the lane … sat a new bird,
Name was “Network,” sure you’ve all heard,
Changed all the rules, used electronic tools,
Workin’ in the Windshield Wonderland.
In the morn insurance agent calls us,
Says he needs a job done really quick,
Asks if we are “network,” we say no man,
He hangs up – we start to feel quite sick.
Later on … we perspire,
Times are tough … straights are dire,
Tis a pitiful plight, can’t sleep at night,
Workin’ in the Windshield Wonderland.
Maybe now … time to retire,
Discount’s up … and getting higher,
Remember the days, the profits we made,
Workin’ in the Windshield Wonderland.
