About the cover Artist - A Family Tree of History
Dolores Joyce has stained glass art in her blood and
her experience in the industry reads like a family tree. Dolores father, Charlie
Dlubak, founded Dlubak Stained Glass Studio in 1940 when Dolores was a child. His success
in creating original art design and custom stained glass windows for churches was carried
on by Dolores mother, Helen, after Charlies early death. The company later
grew under the leadership of Dolores brother, Frank Dlubak, and Dolores
husband, Dick Joyce, who began to explore the architectural and high-tech arena.
As Dlubak Corporation continued to evolve and move into the twenty-first century, Dolores
felt compelled to carry on the family legend. Unsure at one point as to whether she should
sacrifice fingernails and her long hours to the craft, Dolores says her father twice
appeared in her dreams reaffirming her intention.
Now after more than 15 years and countless works sold throughout the country, Dolores is
coming into her own creating beautiful stained glass works using a European art form
Americans have grown to love.
Dolores lives in Natrona Heights, PA, with her husband. They have five children, seven
grandchildren and the couple continues to enjoy their relationship with Dolores
mother, Helen.
