CRL Announces New VP of Customer Services

C.R. Laurence Co. Inc. (CRL) of Los Angeles has an-nounced the promotion of D.J. Friese to the position of vice president of customer services. As a result of this promotion, Friese also becomes the newest member of CRL’s executive committee.

Since joining the company in 1992, Friese has worked in numerous departments, giving him the needed experience to take on the duties of his new position, which includes overseeing all CRL customer service operations, such as the company’s new E-Commerce Support Center. (If the name sounds familiar it should; D.J. is also the son of CRL president Don Friese.)

 

New Faces at Viracon

Viracon has announced the appointment of several new manufacturing managers in its Owatonna, Minn., location.

Bill Wright, who has been with the company since 1996, will be responsible for cutting, coating and tempering. Previously, he worked in shipping, logistics and GPC; James Larson will oversee laminating, special fabrication and silk screening. For the past six years, Larson has worked at Viracon-Curvlite as a maintenance/engineering manager; Doug Betti will be managing insulating, staging, manufacturing and packing. He joins the Viracon team from Telex Communications where he served as production
manager.

Also new at Viracon, Randall L. Bush has been named director of information services. Through this position, Bush will be responsible for selection, design, development, implementation and support of all information technology systems and assets.

 

Reorganization
and Promotions Announced at Binswanger

Binswanger Glass, the retail division of VVP America Inc., has made several reorganization changes and promotions due to VVP America’s acquisition of Harding Glass Inc.

According to Tom Sistruck, retail division vice president and general manager, the retail division has been divided into two regions, eastern and western. Jimmy Jenkins will manage the eastern division while Rick Butler manages the western. Tina Lucas will replace Butler in his previous position of Austin area manager in Texas.

 

Tubelite Adds Four

Marty Chevian has been named Tubelite’s new chief engineer. He is responsible for providing technical direction to in house personnel and customers.

Also new to Tubelite, Hal Blain has been hired as the logistics and materials manager. Blain is responsible for supervising and directing the operations of the customer service department’s scheduling and also manages the inventory and purchasing activities. He has more than 30 years of technical experience in production scheduling, customer service and logistics.

In addition, Erica Wood is the company’s new human resource clerk and Christopher Alvares has been hired as a client development manager.

 

New President, EVP at Toray Plastics

Located in North Kingstown, R.I., Toray Plastics (America) Inc. has named a new president and executive vice president. Yasuo Abe will serve as the new president. He has worked for Toray’s parent company, Toray Industries Inc. in Tokyo for 40 years.

In addition, Yusuke Orito has been named the company’s executive vice president. He will be responsible for sales and marketing activities of Toray’s Limirror®, Torayfan® and PEF divisions. Presently, he is the general manager for Toray Industries’ film trading department in Japan.

Appelhans is New CISCA Director

The Ceilings and Interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA) board of directors has announced the appointment of Patricia F. Appelhans, J.D. as executive director.

Responsibilities of this position include overseeing CISCA’s administrative functions and strategic planning, as well as operating and financial budgets. Before joining CISCA, Appelhans was executive director for the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL).

 

New Sales Rep Named at Wausau

Wausau Window and Wall Systems based in Wausau, Wis., recently named Gary Latham as a southeastern region sales representative. Latham, who is owner of Latham Architectural Products, brings to his new position more than a decade’s worth of experience in the window and curtainwall business, including 14 years with Kawneer.
