Tubelite names Perilstein Distributing Corporation as New Distributor
Metal supplier Tubelite Inc. of Reed City, Mich., has named Perilstein Distributing Corp. (PDC) as an authorized distributor of its architectural aluminum products, effective November 1, 2000. PDC will service Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsyl-vania, New York, Ohio, Virginia, New Jersey, Washington D.C. and Maryland from its headquarters in Cheswick, Pa. PDC is part of the United Glass Corp. and has fabricated and distributed aluminum since 1986.

Rohm and Haas Invests $15 Million in Factory in Brazil
Rohm and Haas has invested $15 million in an adhesives and sealants factory in Jacare, Brazil. According to the company, the factory will begin operations in September 2001 and will manufacture polyester- and polyurethane-based adhesives. Rohm and Haas says the adhesives can then be used in a variety of applications, including flexible packaging, labels, automotive interior trim, rubber-to-metal bonding agents, industrial lamination and shoes.

Tem-Pace Purchases Glasstech System
Glasstech Inc. of Perrysburg, Ohio, has agreed to supply a new glass bending and tempering system to Tem-Pace Inc., based in Niles, Mich. The company recently announced that it would purchase Glasstech’s CRB Advanced Cylindrical Bending and Tempering System.

“We feel that the Glasstech system will fulfill a wide range of present and future customer needs,” said Richard J. Krause Sr., founder and president of the company.

Until recently, Tem-Pace supplied only flat tempered glass. However, in an effort to maintain competition, the company decided to extend its line to bent and tempered glass with Glasstech’s
system.

“In today’s competitive automotive glass markets, uptime, yield and high quality with statistical consistency are important,” said Bob Kramer of Glasstech. “With the fast computer-controlled changeover, the system is ideal for short runs, and with the consistent high quality of parts produced, this CRB technology is ideal for OEM production.”
