Seeing Stars: Menasha Takes Home 2000 WorldStar Award for Packaging
The 2000 WorldStar Award for Industrial Packaging recently honored the Menasha Corp. based in Youngwood, Pa., and Dave Bartholomew for the Kor-Kap Flat Glass Packaging System.
According to Menasha, the Kor-Kap system is a revolutionary, returnable packaging system for shipping flat glass. Company representatives also say the package weighs 300 to 400 pounds less than conventional steel racks, eliminates dunnage and also reduces labor, freight costs and warehouse space.
The awards are given by the World Packaging Association and the International Packaging Press Organization, and were judged during ScanPak, which was held in October in Gothenberg, Sweden. The judges awarded 176 WorldStars to packages from 26 countries.
