Pilkington North America Inc., based in Toledo, Ohio, has entered into a ten-year
agreement with Houston-based Enron Energy Services, a subsidiary of Enron Corp., to manage
the supply of electricity and natural gas in Pilkingtons manufacturing facilities.
The agreement is valued at more than $500 million, and will affect nine of the
companys plants, located in North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan,
Illinois and California. In addition, Enron will provide energy equipment upgrades to nine
facilities.
Guardian Consolidates Building Product Units
Guardian Building Products, a subsidiary of Guardian Industry Corp. of Auburn Hills,
Mich., has announced that it will be jointly marketing the products and services from
three of its operating units. The operating units are:
Builder Marts of America (BMA);
Cameron Ashley Building Products
Inc.; and
Guardian Fiberglass.
Previously, sales representatives for each group sold only products from their own groups.
Under the new agreement, sales and field forces will be cross-trained to learn about and
promote products and programs from the entire Guardian Building Products Group.
