EFCO Honors Customers with Luxury Yacht Cruise

For the second year, EFCO Corp. of Monett, Mo., took the opportunity to honor its top 100 customers March 15 in Miami with an event called “Rock-in’ the Boat with EFCO.” Those in attendance were treated to a three-hour luxury yacht cruise along the Biscayne Bay, complete with fine dining, cocktails, music and dancing. In addition, an autographed Dan Marino Miami Dolphins jersey was given away as an attendance prize to Dan and Linda Kennedy of Rock Valley Glass of Rockford, Ill.

Chris Fuldner, president of EFCO, said the purpose of the event was to honor the company’s top-performing customers and thank them for their support. “The year 2000 was tremendously successful for EFCO, and we wanted to show our appreciation to those who helped make it happen,” said Fuldner.

Copper Sales Acquires Delcoa Industries
Based in Anoka, Minn., Copper Sales Inc. has announced the acquisition of Delcoa Industries of Pompano Beach, Fla., a manufacturer of high-performance roofing systems. The company will now operate under the name CSI Delcoa Inc.

According to a news release, the acquisition of Delcoa will be an asset to Copper Sales’ growth strategy since the companies share the same philosophy of serving construction professionals. Copper Sales plans to expand its customer service and product offerings to the roofing, sheet metal and glazing industries.

Alter Steel Window Expands Services to Offer Architectural Sheet Metal Services

Based in the Bronx, N.Y., Alter Steel Window Co. has expanded its services to offer custom architectural sheet metal fabrication for both exterior and interior building cladding and trim applications.

“The objective of this new and exciting business venture is to provide New York’s design and construction community with an alternative source for custom architectural metal fabrication, offering the best in quality, pricing and turn around schedule,” said Joseph Ocasio, executive vice president.

According to a news release, Alter Steel Window invested more than $100,000 in metal fabrication equipment to offer the new service. 

Arch Aluminum Completes Purchase of Bay Mirror
Arch Aluminum and Glass Co. has announced it has completed the purchase of the assets of Bay Mirror Inc. of Newark, Calif.

“We are excited to have successfully completed this purchase, and we look forward to adding new manufacturing and delivery equipment to the existing facility,” said Leon Silverstein, Arch Aluminum chief executive officer. “Bay Mirror represents our third mirror manufacturing facility, and like Arch Mirror South in Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Arch Mirror North in Bettendorf, Iowa, will produce North America’s highest quality mirror products,” he added.

According to Silverstein, the new California facility will receive immediate new investments, including a new double-edger, upgraded fabrication equipment and a modern truck fleet.

Uvekol® S Awarded Dade County Certification
UCB Chemicals Corp. of Smyrna, Ga., has announced that it has received Dade County, Fla. certification for its Uvekol S.

“Effective immediately, glass laminated with Uvekol S now meets Dade County Certification as impact-resistant hurricane glass,” said Ed Jenkins, group product marketing manager. “The certification allows glass laminators to recognize the advanced impact resistance, lower production cost and superior optical properties of Uvekol S. This poises the product to offer significant benefits to the window and door industry,” he added.
