YKK Announces New Operable Windows
The YOW 225 TU is the newest line of operable windows from Atlanta-based YKK AP. According to the company, the line has been fully tested and has an AAMA rating of AW-65, which means the windows have passed the most stringent tests for air and water infiltration, and a life cycle test.

YOW 225 TY windows have a 2 1/4-inch frame depth and are available in fixed, project out/in vents and swing out/in casement configurations. In addition, the line features YKK AP's ThermaBond Plus™ poured and debridged 
technology.

The windows may be installed separately, or mulled together using either a stacking mullion or an expansion mullion. They may also be installed in any YKK AP storefront, window wall or curtainwall system.

Likewise, YKK AP has announced its YOW 250 T thermally broken line of operable windows has received AAMA's AW-60 rating.

Arcadia Introduces ULT-500 Window Line 
Arcadia of Stamford, Conn., has introduced its ULT-500 high-performance sliding aluminum window line. According to the company, the ULT-500 is a high-performance window that has been tested to several AAMA standards, including HC-40, HC-55, HC-60, HC-75, AW-40, AW-45 and AW-55. The thermally broken window can accommodate 1-inch dual glazing, along with 3/16- and ¼-inch single glazing.

The line features accessories such as sidelites, transoms and receptor channels, and is available in a variety of configurations and with a number of hardware options.

Shaking Things Up
The Shaker series door is the most recent addition to McLeary, Wash.'s Simpson Door Co. The company says the door is made from Western Hemlock and is available in both single and bifold configurations. It measures 6 feet, 8 inches in height and single doors can be ordered in varying widths from 2 to 3 feet, while bifold doors are available in 2 feet, 2 feet, 6 inches and 3 feet.

EGlass Releases New Flat Glass Software
EGlass Technologies Inc. has recently launched its 32-bit Windows version of ClearCut for the U.S. flat glass industry.

"The ClearCut DOS software has been used by flat glass merchants in Australia for years," said Brad T. Kryger, president of EGlass Technologies Inc. "The U.S. market was asking for 32-bit Windows technology that was still as easy to use as ClearCut DOS. EGlass has delivered what the market was asking for."

According to Kryger, ClearCut Windows functionality includes order entry, stock control, receivables, purchasing, optimization, quotes, back orders, factory production scheduling, ISO 9002 compliance, bar coding and more.

Vistawall Steps in with New System
The CW-250 curtainwall system, a low-rise system, is now available from Vistawall Architectural Products of Terrell, Texas. 

According to information from the company, design elements of the system include a 2 ½-inch face dimension, no exposed fasteners, 1-inch or ¼-inch vision and spandrel glazing capabilities, pre-punched pressure plates, captured and butt glaze mullions, heavy duty mullions and low-profile corner transitions.

Access Hardware Supply Offers Extensive Line of Door Products

Access Hardware Supply of San Leandro, Calif., has introduced the Door-Guard™ 212iLM™ mullion keypad from IEI™. The 212iLM mullion keypad offers a one-piece design that mounts directly to mullion doorframes or any flat surfaces that does not require a backbox. There is a separate doorbell key and relay included with the keypad, which allows for up to 120 users. 

Access is also now stocking the 4040 series from LCN®. The redesigned 4040 series is currently available in a standard cover or a designer series metal cover. In addition, Fast Adjust Dial™ enables installers to precisely adjust the closer to match the conditions of the entrance.

Also from Access is the complete line of electronic hardware from Sargent, including the electrified locksets and electrified exit devices.

In addition, Access also offers Jackson Corp.'s electric latch retraction device. According to information from Access, the device offers remote activation of the latch.

The RITE Door® from Adams Rite Manufacturing Co. is available from Access as well. According to information from Access, the RITE Door is a complete door and exit device, and all hardware, including the exit device, is pre-installed at Adams Rite.

HEWI Expands Line with New Railing Option
The Lancaster, Pa., company HEWI Inc. has added Circum stainless steel railings to its guardrails and handrails line. 

According to information from HEWI, the system features circular components that are 100 percent mechanically connected, with no welded joints. Infill options include glass, stainless steel perforated panels and multi-line solid stainless steel rods.

Likewise, both handrails and top rails are available in stainless steel, HEWI nylon or straight rails of natural wood.

Manko Offers Aluminum Options for Storefronts and Windows
Manko Window Systems Inc. of Manhattan, Kan., offers a variety of styles and options for aluminum storefronts and windows.
Of the many products available is the company's 590 series 4 1/16-inch depth thermally broken heavy commercial rated Airvent window system. According to Manko, main frames and rotating sash come standard on this series with a stainless steel bug screen that features an optional stainless steel bug/security plate.

Another of Manko's offerings is the 200 series 5/8-inch depth thermally broken commercial-rated single slide sliding window. According to information from Manko, this window features a standard nail fin or finless option at perimeter. It has either a ¼-inch or 7/8-inch glazing infill cam latch lock and also dual tandem adjustable brass rollers and screen.

Levolux Lightens Up with Skyvane

Headquartered in the United Kingdom, Levolux has launched its Skyvane skylight system, which is designed to control both solar heat gain and glare while allowing optimal use of natural light.

According to information from the company, the Skyvane system is designed to shade horizontal, inclined and irregular shaped glazing. Two external systems are available, the 675x for solar glare control, and 680x for protection against heat and glare.

Steelcraft Weathers the Storm
The Paladin severe weather door system is now available from Steelcraft, a division of IR Commercial Security & Safety.

According to information from the company, the system features a lock-edge reinforcement and crush-and-bend resistant stiffeners. It can also withstand wind-load pressure of more than 1.75 psi.

Armor USA Unleashes Wingard™

Designed to meet hurricane codes of Dade and Broward counties, Armor USA Inc. of Coppell, Texas, has introduced Wingard hurricane resistant glass.

According to information from Armor, Wingard is a laminated composite of glass and ionoplast that is designed to meet the protective needs of both commercial and residential buildings in coastal areas. Wingard is also said to offer five times the tear strength and 100 times the rigidity of conventional PVB laminated glass.
