Glass Products, Fast-Food Style
Spec-Temp of Antwerp, Ohio, now offers custom and curved insulating glass products on a
made-to-order basis. Designed to add thermal and sound-deadening value to window units,
the products are available in both flat and bent tempered glass. The company provides
various spacer types to allow for specified customer applications in air- and argon-filled
sealed units.

AFG Industries of Kingsport, Tenn., has announced the introduction of its Radiance
Ti self-cleaning glass.
According to information from the company, the glass uses the sun's ultraviolet energy to
break down dirt. The glass' sheeting properties allow rain or water from a hose to rinse
the glass clean.
In addition, Radiance Ti is said to be an energy-efficient and solar-control glass.
"AFG Industries created this product in response to the needs of our customers,"
said D. Roger Kennedy, president and chief executive officer. "Introduction of this
product gives our customers the self-cleaning features they want in a product that's also
energy-efficient and good for the bottom line."
Radiance Ti can be tempered or insulating, and can be used in both residential and
commercial applications.

A New Twist to Glass Decorating
Thanks to Coates Screen of St. Charles, Ill., a new option is available for
screen-printing glass. The company offers UV curing capabilities.
According to the company, UV inks offer an enhanced color range, including metallics, as
screen stability since they are 100 percent solids.
In addition, the company says UV inks are an economical alternative to acid-etching and
sandblasting since the inks can be formulated to provide different surface textures when
printed and cured.

Access the PRO
Now available from Access Hardware Supply of San Leandro, Calif., is Schlages PRO
series programmable locks. According to information from the company, these stand-alone,
battery-operated locks use microprocessors to program up to 120 user codes right at the
lock. According to Access, the locks are ideal for facilities that have a limited number
of users and access points.
According to Access, the Pro series is designed to meet ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 standards, and
also utilizes a TorqDefender feature that allows the lever to swing freely in a break-in
or vandalism, while the lock remains secure. In addition, the PRO series locks are UL
listed for fire doors and last two to three years, or 80,000 activations, before the AA
batteries been replacing, the company says.
