Editor’s Note: After numerous requests, we reprint the following article, which first appeared in the December 1996 issue of USGlass.

We the Architects—We the Kings
(to the Tune of “We Three Kings”)

THREEKINGS

We the Kings of buildings are,
Drawing plans with dreams from afar;
Malls and fountains, moving mountains,
Following our own star.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh …

Specs of wonder, specs of fright,
Specs that keep you up all night,
Nowhere leading, still proceeding,
Slowing things down at each jobsite.

I’m a king, got an architect’s degree,
Don’t know much, but it’s my pedigree,
Kings forever, we’re never wrong,
Arrogance is the key.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh …

Specs of wonder, specs of fright,
Specs that keep you up all night,
Nothing heeding, chaos breeding,
On your wallet, we’ll put the bite.

Glass you offer, a little metal too,
But you’re not sure of just what we’ll do,
Changing ever, listening never,
We’ll never give you a clue.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh …

Specs of wonder, specs of fright,
Specs that keep you up all night,
Bottom feeding, jobs impeding,
Wanting to pay 3 cents per lite!
