IWFE Rounds Them Up in San Antonio

The International Window Film Conference and Expo™ (IWFE) turned out window film manufacturers and dealers when it was held January 23-25, 2003, in San Antonio. The IWFE was co-sponsored by the International Window Film Association (IWFA) and Window Film magazine, USGlass’ sister publication.

The show offered attendees an array of new products, including several new lines of films from Martinsville, Va.-based CPFilms Inc., Woburn, Mass.-based Madico Inc., Clearwater, Fla.-based Bekaert Specialty Films, St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Film Technologies International and others.

Attendees also enjoyed a variety of educational opportunities, including seminars on opening a window film business, effective business proposal writing, the impact of building codes, the future of the IWFA and diversifying a business.

Dan Shaw took first place in the International Tint-off. The second annual International Tint-Off was also held. Nearly 30 contestants competed for the title. Dan Shaw of Auto Glass Plus in Bremerton, Wash., took first, Eric Lucio of Mothers Window Tint in San Antonio took second and Danny Sanders of Custom Sun Control in Marietta, Ga., went home with third.

Glass Expos USA™ Show Dates Changing to Thursday-Friday Schedule
Show dates for Glass Expo Pacific Northwest 2003, Glass Expo Midwest 2003 and Glass Expo Northeast 2003 will all be changing to a Thursday-Friday schedule.

The new dates are as follows: Glass Expo Pacific Northwest, August 21-22; Glass Expo Midwest, October 16-17; and Glass Expo Northeast, November 20-21.

Dates for Glass Texpo 2003 remain October 2-4, 2003.

“We had been running the events from Thursday to Saturday, with seminars on Thursday, show on Saturday and both on Friday,” said exhibits manager Tina Czar. “But we’ve tested a few expos with the show on Thursday evening instead of Saturday and the results have been great. The Thursday evening will allow even more people to take advantage of the events.” She continued, “Glass Texpo will remain unchanged, as San Antonio is a great weekend destination locale.”

All events are co-sponsored by USGlass magazine and various regional trade associations.
